Favorite place to meet for an informal business meeting over coffee within 5 blocks of 4th and University. Very nice croissants.
Super fast service on a Saturday afternoon, delicious Croque Monsieurs and pastries to go. We stopped in for lunch before a show and it was perfect.

I hate to say it, but I feel like this place has gone downhill every since it's changed location (not sure if that also included a change of management?) Sure, the space is much larger and modern, but what use to easily be a 5-star establishment I find just mediocre now. I've seen some new faces since the move and I feel like they are not very friendly or as skilled in their craft. My lattes are now consistently under-filled and overly foamed. The espresso is strong but are now overly sweetened. One of the reasons I used to love this place is that their lattes were consistent and not TOO sweet. Their pastries are still very good and on point. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt but if the trends continue, I will unfortunately need to find a new morning coffee joint.
I don’t know why I bother. Their croissants have the consistency of wet paper. Looks really good in the display but that’s about. Don’t be deceived! In Response to the Owner, Yes it was Belle Epicurean on 4th Ave and Madison. I have tried the croissant, twice baked almond croissant, apricot croissant, pumpkin spice, and chocolate pistachio. They all had a wet paper like consistency. I've tried many times to like this place but it's just not that good.
Probably the best french bakery and cafe that I tried in Seattle. All of the different items that I have tried have are amazingly well done. The space it super bright and clean. There is a large selection of goods from cake, to pastry to sandwiches. There is also wine and beer and a happy hour. The macaroons at 2 bucks a piece are an amazing deal.
If you want hot water that costs $5, order tea here. Ordered an Earl Grey and a London Fog and both came out barely steeped with a tiny amount of milk. What tea flavor I could detect tasted like the cheap Bigelow brand. The pastries looked burnt so I didn’t even bother. Wish I’d guessed the tea would be similarly disappointing and saved my money. At least the shop was clean and the barista offered to remake my drink (it wasn’t any better the second time.) I really want to enjoy this place but it’s gone downhill in the last year.
Best chocolate croissants in the city. Love the people that work here as well. It has become something I sincerely look forward to on the days that I come into the office. I know Carolyn and the team put a lot of work into the pastries and it shows. I'm inclined to go make peace with the Madison location just so I can enjoy the croissants more often.
This is a nice cafe. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This cafe’s only entrance is inside the lobby of a large office building, so one must walk through any entrance of the building to find it. There are tables and chairs for cafe patrons inside and outside the cafe. This cafe has numerous pastries and espresso drinks. I ate the chocolate croissant, which was a good croissant with a nice strip of chocolate in the middle. After eating I left, satisfied with my experience. I gave this bakery five stars because it has good chocolate croissants in a beautiful office tower lobby.
Best little coffeeshop for breakfast in Seattle... ive read in the reviews someone saying their croissants is bad let me tell you smthg its better than the croissants ive tried in Paris my self 😋 definitely coming back
