Just like any other CDL mill, they teach you how to pass the state test and that's about it. Too many students, too little time in the trucks. Equipment was poor. Trucks were constantly breaking down and malfunctioning. Obvious favoritism was shown to some students, especially females. 45 and 90 degree backing isn't emphasized enough, even though those are the two most common backing maneuvers you'll use. Instructors are friendly enough. However, right after I left the school, 4 of the instructors quit. Overall, I can't recommend, but I haven't heard great stuff about other schools either. Edit: Obviously I used a fake name to avoid retaliation. This industry is very cutthroat
When I first started at C1 my experience wasn't so great. I had concerns about the classroom sizes, equipment and the amount of time I was being given each day. I voiced my concerns to the Jason the director as well as the instructors. By the end of my training all of my concerns had been addressed! They ended up with 4 new trucks, more instructors and the class sizes are now smaller. The instructors (James, Guy, Chad, Ed, Melanie and Derrick) were all GREAT! They made sure to stay after or come in early to make sure I was getting the practice I needed to feel comfortable. I couldn't have done it without these guys! I also gained a bunch of new friends going through this journey. It's an experience I will NEVER forget!
I highly recommend coming here if you are considering getting your CDL A. The school and instructors teach you everything you need to know before you take your test. I got my manual class A endorsement
I would recommend this CDL Training to anyone thinking about driving a semi. They prepare you well, and genuinely want the best for you. There are moments it may be challenging. But it was always a confidence builder when successful navigate the task at hand. Great School!
EVERY TRAINER IN THIS BUILDING , was a great help and very hands on . I appreciate everybody there for changing my life . I will always be thankful for all of you people . Jeff Lawson And Miss Melanie are Hard on you because they see the things you are capable of doing they only criticize to bring the best out of you. Only spent 4 weeks in the program and I have nothing but love for everyone in that building I thank you all for helping me better myself .
Absolutely loved the entire school and program! Very easy to get started, everyone has very helpful throughout the entire program! They are motivating and always have positive attitudes! I couldn’t have done it without them! Thank you soooo much C1!!!
Shout out to James for being such an awesome trainer! He was so easy to get along with and helped me to better apply the concepts of what was taught and made it fun. He truly cares about his students and ensuring success. This was evident to me more than ever on his efforts to getting me to test on time, despite the obstacles that were faced on test day. Chris was great in the classroom and helped make the learning environment fun and balanced. As for equipment we used for manual Class B…very disappointing. The truck was unreliable and left us on the side of the road on test day. Thankfully another truck was sent to complete the test. They are doing great to expand the class B automatic trucks…but the manual truck was rough! Overall, I’m thankful to the efforts in the end to help ensure I was able to complete the testing and for James and his follow up and follow through.
My experience at C1 was all around a great experience. From my arrival at the hotel provided on Sunday, walking in at the same time as my roommate arrived to the very llast minute on graduation day. Most of the instructors I dealt with were very good. The 4 that really helped me to put it all together and were the keys to my success were Phil, Victor, Ken, and Shannon. They pushed me to be my best and do my best. I had a great group in class as well. We all worked together to learn and push each other towards our goal.
The instructors are fantastic and genuinly care about your success. Seat time can be difficult ti get access to but its up to you. Closed mouths dont get fed. The only issue i have is that sometimes equipment is not available because its broken but thats real world stuff.
Fantastic training experience, I wish our entire team could go back through the Class B program since the laws changed. The instructors truly care about your success and are available for help outside normal hours if you're struggling.
