A warning to the wise: When seeking eldercare, as the patient’s son, I paid for the $150+ premium service for one year to seek support for our elderly mom. After signing up and paying the fee—because it was not clear on their sign-up process—I then realized that the profile listed was under my name (and not my elderly mother’s) and therefore it looked I was the patient in the profile. Once I innocently made the name correction, all of a sudden my account was flagged for “policy violations,” with no clear interface that could’ve explained that it should be under my mother’s photograph and name in order to appeal to caregivers. Once I contacted Care.com through chat, they indicated that the fee was non-refundable, and had no solution for me to correct the obvious error without going through an internal case review. They said I should’ve signed up under my mother’s profile and name, but there was no indication to do that originally when signing up. My case is pending with them, but I already have my confidence shaken about whether this is a good service. I will update my review if it is resolved satisfactorily. NOTE: The concept is good and it appears to match you with good potential caregivers, but I do worry about the company itself doing the matching…

Care.com has been the absolute worst company to deal with, regarding home care for seniors, I've ever experienced. I signed up on their website because my elderly father needed in-home care. After enrolling and paying a hefty fee of $155.40, I was then able to use their online system to try and find caretakers in my dad's area. You have absolutely no way of knowing if there are any caretakers in your area until you pay their non-refundable fee. That search result only turned up TWO candidates. One was experienced and trained, but only available for very limited hours. The other one was a teenage girl with no experience whatsoever. Despite this, I used the Care.com messaging feature to contact both candidates, and received no response whatsoever. Nothing. Nada... I tried once more with the exact same result. I reached out to Care.com help, which wasn't easy to find on their website, by the way, and they advised me to expand my search area. The problem is, there's no link, button or way to do that on their website. It only uses a simple zip code to locate people. As a workaround, I plugged in various surrounding zip codes, and got no results at all. No caregivers. So the Care.com site turned out to be completely useless for me, and it completely failed in locating a caregiver for my dad. After three weeks, I contacted Care.com and let them know that their service was useless, it did not work and that I wanted to cancel and wanted a refund. They advised me that they were unable to cancel my account and that they did not give refunds, despite the fact that they provided no service at all, for the money that I paid. I've since reported them to the BBB and the FTC, and have left negative reviews on various sites like Yelp! and Trust Pilot. Trust me on this, you want to avoid this company at all cost. Their policies and lack of any useful, real service border on being a scam. I cannot recommend them to anyone...

Customer service is nonexistent and the app forces you to create an account and get a premium subscription to work. Once locked in, the app does not work and does not allow you to book. No one to call or email. They do have a chat box but it does not work and only provides a few initial drop down boxes to choose from. The whole site feels like a scam and I have already disputed the charges to my account. Please avoid this dumpster fire of a company

I booked a drive through care and they told me it would take 24 hours to get paid. I worked on November 26 and it is now November 30 and I still haven’t been paid. Now, I can’t even log into my care account unless I pay $15 to ask why I haven’t been paid. It is a huge scam, so do not book your Nanny experience, or other service experiences through Care. Do it directly with whoever you are giving the services to. If you want to get paid, that is the way to do it.

What a joke! I'm looking for care for my 93 year old mom and in order to answer potential caregivers I have to sign up for a "Plan" that costs up to $38+ if you just need one month. Unbelievable! I feel bad for all the caregivers who answered the ad (They let you post the ad for free) who are never going to get employment from me or an answer for that matter. This company is a waste and very deceiving in their marketing. There are much better options. Find one!

When Care sends a message of "you might be a a good fit for" and they tell you the amount, they also charge a service fee out of our wage. I will bet that the client doesn't know that.

Not happy. You pay to use the service - for one month access, it was 41 dollars and change. The choices for my area were slim and the ones I contacted were booked. I did have one who approached me and she was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago. I used them once before with no luck. Once shame on them twice shame on me.....don't be pulled in by their commercials. It is not that easy nor are the people reliable. There might be some who are but I can't seem to find them.

You have no way of contacting anyone! I’ve tried numerous times to email you. You suspend my account and lock me in to a subscription and then don’t contact me back about it. If you’re going to suspend my account then contact me back and tell me you’re cancelling subscription to. I should get my money back. Terrible app that freezes can’t even go on a laptop and use your website.

Do not subscribe! Despite claims that you can cancel at any time, you will be unable to cancel the membership online because the link loops back to the main page. There's no chat link or phone line where you can leave a msg. You will need to search their physical address in Austin, TX and write them a letter. It's a scammy trap.

I paid for premium service and never heard back from any nannies. Nothing... do NOT waste time or money. UPDATE Heard back from a nanny and we plan to hire her. Will post back about the job she provides. Update Nanny canceled last minute.
