Overall, the lack of transparent communication and support has left us feeling disheartened with Central Education and the Richfield School district as a whole. We expected a nurturing environment that would work with us and our child if and when any issues arose. Instead, we encountered a rigid approach to a curriculum that was not intended for the advertised 3 year old child. Our experience involved our child not meeting the expectations of the room he was in. Instead of straightforward conversation stating this room does not seem to be a good fit, they provided misdirection leading us to believe there were behavioral concerns and hollow conversations of support. Immediately after being told about behavioral concerns we consulted our physician and started in OT. The week we had our OT consultation, they let us know we would meet on Friday to discuss the week's process. At that meeting, we learned Central Education's decision our child needed to be removed from the class was long made, regardless of the efforts we put in. We found you need to fit the mold they expect with Richfield School System, which is good to know prior to starting Kindergarten in the district. Ultimately, this has led to a negative experience for our family. I cannot recommend this preschool based on our experience and I would not advise to enroll any 3 year old in a program here. To note, the physician and OT professional our child met with stated they were developmentally at an appropriate level for a 3 year old. As well, in their conversation with us Central Education informed us this is not the first student who has experienced a similar situation with that particular class.
Excellent staff, really helpful getting my child evaluated and enrolled.
