The administration and financial departments are extremely difficult to deal with. Five months after graduation, the school closed my email account while I was still searching for a job. Career services offered little to no support for employment in my field. Career fairs largely involved companies collecting resumes with no apparent intent to hire students from Dunwoody.

The following review is in updating process. I am a 3 generation alumni at Dunwoody. My grandfather graduated here around 1940, my father graduated around 1970, and me and my brother vack in 2007. This school was top notch for refrigeration from day one till around 2000. Hoping that this school and course improves to top in usa like years ago... Personally my schooling at Dunwoody was only valuable from Two instructors "Denny Steinquest and Tom Klimin " vs more than 8 i had. The classes it required for my degree i earned at Dunwoody was good: except for a few of the unnecessary elective classes required. I refused to be part of several movies in class we were required to watch to pass the class. It was a movie that my religion does not support. Looking forward to this school improving and getting back to being top in usa as it was years ago. This review is the experience i had and a opportunity to improve. Please take this review as a opportunity to improve and not brush under the Carpet. 12-17-2025 Was blessed to have Bill from Dunwoody out to my shop to discuss how to improve Dunwoody HVAC program and look over possible donations id like to make to boost the school. 1-8-2026 I toured the current course and was impressed. The things that impressed me were the passion that I seen from the Instructors especially Bill. I think Dunwoody is on the right course to getting Dunwoody back to being best in the world for Tradeschools!

As I reflect on my professional journey in the electrical contracting industry, I can trace my success back to one pivotal decision: enrolling in Dunwoody (Dunwoody Institute at the time) College of Technology's Electrical Construction and Maintenance program in 1990. This program laid the foundation for everything I've accomplished in my career. What set Dunwoody apart was their perfect balance of theoretical knowledge and hands-on application. The instructors weren't just teachers – they were industry veterans who brought real-world experience into the classroom. They taught us not just the "how" of electrical work, but the critical "why" behind every connection and system. The rigorous curriculum covered everything from basic electrical theory to advanced troubleshooting techniques, all while maintaining strict adherence to the National Electrical Code. The lab facilities were impressive even by today's standards. We worked with actual equipment and systems we would encounter in the field, giving us confidence and competence before our first day on the job. Beyond technical skills, Dunwoody instilled professional values that proved essential when I started my contracting business in the Twin Cities. Integrity, quality workmanship, and attention to detail weren't just buzzwords – they were principles we lived by during our training. When I launched my electrical contracting business, I found myself thoroughly prepared for the technical challenges. Dunwoody translated directly to business success. Today, as I look at my electrical contracting business serving the Twin Cities area, I'm grateful for the solid foundation Dunwoody provided. Their program didn't just teach me a trade – it launched a successful career and business that has provided for my family and contributed to our community's infrastructure for decades.

Waste of time and money if you are wanting an architecture degree for residential design look somewhere else. They focus on nothing but commercial design with nothing being remotely realistic to in field experience. They just give you 16 weeks to creat a commercial design based off a location and certain requirements with unlimited “imagination and budget” there has been no residential design or architecture related classes and 1/3 of the classes are not pertaining to architecture. The only thing i am taking home from this college is the diploma and liscence accreditations but nothing from this program will help in a future of residential design

Would have had a better experience if they didn’t recommend I move into THE QUAD ON DELAWARE I have been suffering ever since while they cared very little about it. I have since dropped out of Dunwoody just because we’re in college doesn’t mean we should live in terrible living conditions. stop using college as an excuse to trick students into giving you money. This school costs so much and yet they chose the most cheapest option for student housing…

If you are looking to take your associate's degree to the next level to a bachelor's degree, Dunwoody is the place. Dunwoody is one of the few colleges that offers +2 programs for specialized trade programs that can be converted into a four-year degree with ABET accreditation, which is why I chose to attend here. The evening classes are nice, which allow me to work around a full-time job. One downside is some of the evening classes which are in-person could be online due to the content, saving the trip to busy downtown Minneapolis during rush hour. Another downside is the value of some of the classes does not match the credit hour price. The content is lacking for how expensive the class is. I feel like I am overpaying for what I am learning but most schools have a couple classes like this. Overall, I would recommend Dunwoody if you were wanting to grow your career since Dunwoody is a well-known school around the region with great placement and good options to further your education.

It was good. Went to attend my nephew's honor program.

The staff at this college is absolutely phenomenal (or at least the staff I have met this far). They went out of their way to help me in a situation I didn't ever think would have a resolution. In addition, this school proves you don't need a 4 year degree to get an amazing job as most of their degree programs are 2 years, yet they still retain an amazing job placement rate.

This place forever changed my life. I thrived in the small class sizes and hands on approach to labs. Dunwoody has close ties to industry professionals that help shape and guide the curriculum. I highly recommend this school. Keep in mind it is private, not-for-profit, and entirely tuition driven, so staff and faculty are very dedicated to student success.

Came to the school in person to get more information on programs. Administration office had a woman with gray hair that met with me. I spoke to her about about information for a program I was interested in taking. She right away comes out with "didn't you check out the website?". I personally want to talk to someone face to face for questions that the website can't provide.She was not very professional and made my experience bad. When I was leaving she wanted to walk me out when the exit was not even 5 min. From the entrance yet she stopped and watched me leave from the stairs. I will not be attending this school and pay if staff treat you this way. I do not recommend talking to Administration here.
