I've never been to a legit fabric store ever in my life. Ive always shopped for fabric at Hobby Lobby, Joann's, or Walmart even. But walking into this store was so overwhelming-- but in a very good way. I kept getting asked numerous times if I needed help, probably because I walked all over several times like a kid in a candy store. As I noted, everyone there was super helpful and the pricing is incredibly reasonable. The button section was fun to dig through to find random buttons to make your garment uniquely you. I ended up leaving with fabric I didn't need but that's a very good shopping trip if you ask me. ❤️😀 Definitely will be back. I'd be there more if I didn't live half an hour away.
Can't say enough about this place....I got fabric here for the tables for my wedding, for a baby shower backdrop, and most recently for tablecloths and accent fabric for a baptism. Ask for Lisa, she's incredible and teaches how to sew, makes dresses (or any other project really), and is super nice! One of the employees was having a birthday and everyone in the store joined in to sing. Such fun and really great atmosphere!
How have I lived in San Antonio for over 10 years and knew nothing about this place!! It's AMAZING!! The staff is friendly abd helpful!!
Good place for all kinds of fabric and finishes. Went on a Saturday to look for upholstery fabric and there was a good selection. A bit sort staffed and it’s not in a retail area.
Google maps and the sign on the door say open until 5PM. I walked in at 4:38. The clerk immediately made a comment about late shoppers and yelled to another employee that they have “7 minutes till close!” I said “it’s 4:38” They said that they close at 4:45. When I mentioned the door and online says 5 they replied that they have to have time to clean up. I said if you close at 4:45 your sign shouldn’t say 5. The male employee very rudely and sarcastically said, “yeah, let me go change that right now.” They have a great selection of fabrics but I will be shopping elsewhere. I could have made a purchase in 7 minutes but I will not spend money here where employees who are in the wrong are rude on top of it.
Well informed as to types, and longevity of material. Cost are to me viable cause it's whatever it takes to make your ride look and feel good. They have just about everything that one needs from a dress , shirt , skirt, to a headliner, mattress, carpet for vehicles im so glad I found this place. Would be nice if they had a couple sewing machines available for DIY guys to rent on location so we could see our own diamond cut upholstery for our trucks and cars but can't have it all. Be thankful for what we do have!!! See y'all
First time going, took my daughter for material she needed a school project and was impressed with the options available. I don't know what materials cost so can't vouch for the prices compared to other places but I think they seemed fair. I picked up 2 pieces of foam for my toolbox and small cases for $9 again not sure if it's a good price or not but to me it was.
I really really like this place. I'm kind of new to the fabric world and these people are great. They are well informed and keep amazing track of an enormous inventory. And for me the most important of all of the great things I can say is they are incredibly patient with me because I may research and create an opinion for the project in front of me, but I have yet to fail with what I have selected to work with and that is based solely on the advice that they have given. Thank you very much.
I love Fabrictopia. The prices for some fabric is steep. But I have no choice.
