Nehemiah General Contractors

Nehemiah just finished their second remodeling project at my house, and I would use them again should the need arise. I think Nehemiah is a bit more expensive than other contractors, but it was worth it to us to be able to trust the quality of their work and to deal with their very professional staff. Chris W. managed both of our projects, and he is amazing: thorough, talented, and meticulous. In addition, he is a delightful person with a great disposition. The project managers that worked with us were Ashley and Casey, and both were professional and did their jobs well. One other comment about Nehemiah’s ethic: The first project Nehemiah did for us took place during covid, during which time everyone was respectful of my request that everyone who entered my house wore masks, which could not have been easy considering the physical nature of their work.

Had a really pleasant, orderly and normal bidding process with them, was verbally confirmed to do a project in the mountains where we operate, received an email from them and responded with the appropriate COIs and documentation. Little did we realize they were out actively bid shopping while they kept us on the line just in case. If you don’t know anything about bid shopping it is an extremely shady business practice that unsavory general contractors like this engage in, in order to get the absolute cheapest price possible and make a couple extra bucks. This has no impact whatsoever on our business operations but I just thought it prudent to warn other subs not to waste your time submitting proposals to this company. Very shady business practices. Edit: Nonsense. Don't shift the blame from yourselves to the client. Own it. You wanted to make a few extra bucks so you verbally confirmed our company as doing the project while still actively sneaking around and seeing if you could get a cheaper price elsewhere. Apparently your word is not your bond and that should tell everyone all they need to know about your company and the way you conduct business. We have been working in this area for well over a decade and have an impeccable reputation here, because we conduct ourselves with honesty and integrity. We're not to blame, the client isn't to blame, YOU are - for conducting business in an unethical manner. And you deserve to be publicly called out for it.

I wish I could give more than five stars! The team at Nehemiah General Contractors was a dream to work with--professional, efficient, and thoughtful. I appreciated their consistent communication and attention to detail from start to finish. I've had numerous neighbors compliment me on the caliber of their work, and I'm thrilled with the way my construction project turned out.

I join the ranks of all who have wonderous things to say about Nehemiah General Contractors. However, I would like to mention one aspect that has not been fully enunciated in other recommendations—project management and cost containment. The project manager and supervisor was Andy Elkins. Based on the original estimate, Andy reduced the estimated cost of the project but not its scope by 20%. From this final estimate (it is time and materials, not fixed bid), he kept finding ways to speed up the project, keeping subcontractors on a short leash, streamlining and minimizing downtime, and finding things to shorten the work. Also, things were not as bad as originally thought (honesty!!). We interacted daily. This project was not simple and could have gotten out of hand. Specifically, there was scaffolding around the house (multi story), contract roofers, in-house carpenters, bricklayers, and contract painters all working 30’ in the air as they moved around the house. When all work was completed, our final cost was 17% less than our operating estimate. Thank you, Andy. As an aside, with a lifelong friend who was the builder, I designed the house and held all liability as if I was the general contractor, so I have a decent idea of construction costs.

As always we have the best experience and outcomes with Nehemiah General Contractors. Chris was amazing. So attentive to details that we could not see with the naked eye! The work was perfect in every way. Thank you all!

They did an incredible job on our whole house remodel. Very professional and their work is impeccable. If you need a contractor who you can trust and can get the job done this is the company to call. Being a realtor, I have heard too many nightmare stories about other contractors and I'm so glad I found them.

My husband and I unequivocally recommend this company. They guided us through an 8 month renovation, always responding professionally and sympathetically to our concerns and questions.
