We chose to go with Slay Construction to renovate our kitchen after our great experiences updating other parts of our house, like the master bathroom and laundry room. We appreciated updates and setting expectations as the process went along. The new kitchen is amazing! We couldn’t have asked for better contractors to make sure this project turned out as it did! Absolutely thrilled with the new home that Ned and Joe built for us. Excellent attention to every detail throughout the process from design to finish out. We had a tight timeline as the project was wrapping up and they went above and beyond to ensure there were no delays. Very organized and professional, as were all of their tradesmen and subcontractors. We’ve been in the home for 5 months now and love it. Ned and Joe initially renovated 2 bathrooms in our home several years ago ... job well done, and just what we wanted. Beautiful! They were the obvious choice when we decided to renovate our kitchen. This project involved a totally different floor plan, opening spaces, rerouting plumbing, new electrical, maximizing storage and function. They completed the job ahead of schedule! Their work ethic, excellent communication, openness to design ideas, guidance for best practice, attention to detail, and management of excellent specialty personnel left us with a beautiful, fully functional new kitchen, prep and dining space. We hired Ned and Joe Slay, of Slay Construction, as our general contractors for a complete remodel of our house. Our house was built in 1970/71, so there was much to do. We could not possibly be happier with the job that they did. Our review may be longer than most, but to make it short would not be fair to the incredible work done by Ned and Joe. Patient – The financing of our re-model took much longer than anyone anticipated, but thankfully the Slays stayed with us. My fear was that they would be forced to move on to other jobs, but they patiently completed all of the paperwork required, multiple times, and hung in there with us. It was a glorious day for all when we finally signed the paperwork and were able to get started. Honest – We came to trust Joe and Ned implicitly. They were direct and clear on every detail and issue that arose. We never once had any need to doubt that what they told us was true. When we realized that plumbing issues would consume our entire contingency fund, they gave us their best advice and did not pull any punches. When they told us something needed to be done, working together we figured out a way to make it happen. Creative – Ned and Joe helped us make many, many design decisions. They helped us pick out colors, tile, flooring, fixtures, etc. When I became frustrated with selecting the shower fixtures, I handed it over to Ned and he took care of it – and got us exactly what we needed. Joe did the same with the audio system that I wanted. The flooring they suggested was both budget friendly and durable and again, exactly what we needed. We even asked their opinions on items that third parties were providing and their suggestions were always helpful. Responsive – We never had difficulty getting in touch with Joe and Ned. No matter the mode of communication, they were readily available and quick to respond. They wanted us to understand the decisions they were asking us to make and met us at the house multiple times to insure that we did. Integrity – We have heard many stories about re-model jobs that turned into disasters and we felt like we only had one opportunity to make sure everything was done right. We hit a grand slam home run with Ned and Joe. They “under promised and over delivered.” They are highly professional, polite, and kind. They take good care of their sub-contractors, many of whom have worked for them for years. We came to feel like Ned and Joe are a part of our family. Summary – On whatever scale you want to use, Joe and Ned Slay and Slay Construction are the cream of the crop – Five Stars – A++ - or 100%. Slay Construction built a Texas sized pool patio in our backyard that can withstand the Texas winds. They were helpful, professional, friendly and it was beautifully executed. I would absolutely recommend working with Ned and Joe.
