We were only doing an evaluation but they will bill you twice for the eval and another time for them to sit down and do paperwork. They pray on exhausted parents looking to find the best support for their children. They should be ashamed. When they send someone out to do an evaluation, they are not doctors who can actually give a real diagnosis. We did not need them to evaluate if our child would benefit from early intervention support. But they will bill you 300$+ for the "opportunity". Absolutely terrible. Ask Eastbay Regional for support options that don't include these guys. Ask FUSD for anyone else other than these people. For 300$, they send someone out to your home and have you look over paperwork. That's the evaluation.
📍 Recipe for the Worst ABA Experience with Stepping Stones Group (SSG) Prep Time: 4+ months Serves: Absolutely no one Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (if even one star is deserved) Ingredients: 1 hopeful family seeking ABA therapy 1 child in need of support A full cup of empty promises 3 tablespoons of lies Several teaspoons of blame-shifting (preferably aimed at your insurance) A pinch of “We’ll get back to you” (left to rot for weeks) 0 qualified therapists (still waiting...) Unlimited patience (eventually exhausted) Garnish with fake professionalism Directions: Start by applying to SSG, where your child is accepted — hooray! Let them sit in limbo for a month before doing an initial assessment in July. Promise therapy will begin in 3 weeks. (Spoiler: It won’t.) When contacted, blame the insurance. Optional step: Call the insurance company yourself and find out SSG lied. Enter Laura Denise Nguyen — who promises follow-up but delivers radio silence. Wait 2 more weeks. Get another excuse: “We don’t have a therapist yet.” Get a new start date of September 25th — finally, some hope! September 25 arrives — and guess what? No therapy. New excuse: “BT is still completing clearances.” Congratulations, you've now wasted nearly 4 months of critical therapy time for your child. Notes: This company excels at delays, miscommunication, and broken promises. Perfect for parents who want to experience emotional exhaustion and bureaucratic gaslighting. Warning: Not suitable for families who actually want help. Final Thoughts: Avoid at all costs. This company should not be entrusted with the care of vulnerable children. If only there was a central place to file complaints for the emotional and developmental damage caused by such negligence
