An extraordinary learning experience.

Thunderbird School of Global Management is the top international business school in the world, especially considering the worldwide network of graduates built up over 75 years in metro Phoenix. At Global Chamber we’re proud to support and recommend the school, and we collaborate in multiple ways, including featuring events in the Global Forum, our office in the Community Room, in classrooms across the building, and in The Pub.
It costs over $3000.00 USD to have the 'free' 100,000,000 Learners graduate certificate courses graded and placed on a transcript. Shameful and misleading. Twenty years ago Thunderbird was the preeminent school of international business. ASU has eviscerated the school. Now it is merely a name on a mediocre ASU management program.
Over the years since graduating I have been able to utilize the T-Bird connect and First Tuesday meeting to build a lot of amazing and valuable connections. The Thunderfest events held around the world every October have been great as well. These events are run by local T-birds in your community and supported by the school, so don't be afraid to start your own. (however the organizer for my local chapter changed and that led to some issues). Still, these events plus the internal social network may be the most valuable part of this school. Wherever you go, you will likely be able to find a fellow T-bird to reach out to and connect with. I have even been able to utalize this network to help build business opportunities. (Posted December 2024) I was granted an extension due to medical emergency, the professor never took the time to unlock the assignment like he said he would. Despite contacting people for several weeks nobody responded again. They instead gave me a 0 on the assignment severl weeks after they posted grades anyway. This school has no integrity. (Posted November 2019) Looking back, the school also did a poor job handling the covid epidemic. Instead of taking the opportunity to show how international businesses could benefit from online consulting from its online students, they just canceled most all of the consulting labs essentially hanging students out to dry. As the opportunity to work within international business and have my opportunity to show what I could do in that regard was one of the main reasons I chose this school, I feel somewhat betrayed. I now carry this student debt and have very little to show for it as the degree is not worth as much as the experience of the promised internship when applying for jobs. While I am grateful to have met wonderful people and show my skills academically, I do not feel satisfied by any of my experiences at Thunderbird. (Posted March 2021). Graduated December 2020
I went to this school. You will never be short of friends wherever in the world you end up, all cause of 45k alums scattered across the globe. MBA is rigorous and has good reputation among employers. Many of my friends have end up in great companies. Tbird MBA will change you and your view of the world like no other in the world. That's why it is No.1 in International Business.
It's an interesting place to be. Everyone here is family and eager to assist whenever you need help. People around are so friendly and welcoming.
Best experience of my education. Graduated in 1967, giving the valedictory address in Portuguese. Professors were retired experts in their fields. Language program was intense but easy to learn. Though only 20 years old, Thunderbird was a fresh look to the future.
Thunderbird is a world class business school. After 10+ years since I graduated, and having pursued senior leadership roles at global level, as well as in Japan, and growth markets, I can testify that my Thunderbird education and its outstanding global network, have played a key role helping me to lead effectively in very different business environments around the world. I have been honored and proud to meet outstanding T-birds in AP, China, Japan and Latin America who are making a major impact.
I think its overall a good school with good professors. My problem with the education I recieved is that the sales pitch of why one should attend the school is a bit misleading. They seemed more geared towards trying to find jobs for and support students from abroad towards settling in the US, rather than trying to support American students in their efforts to find jobs abroad. I've asked my career coach repeatedly for connections and help finding a job in Aus and the UK, and all I heard were crickets. If you plan on going to this school as an American trying to live abroad, look elsewhere. Study in the country you want to live in so that you can develop career those connections while you're there. Furthermore, we were charged full value for our GCL lab, one of the major selling points of the program, and yet we only got to participate on zoom. This is a program that was supposed to include flights, accommodation, among other things, and yet we recieved none of that and didn't get even the slightest discount. When we brought this to the schools attention, they laughed us out the door. A bit of a scam if you ask me.
