I am amazed by the Automotive Mentoring Group(A.M.G.). I purchased a classic car about 10 years ago. I am not an auto mechanic, but I enjoy classic cars. After purchasing my classic car I searched for a shop that could assist in keeping my car on the road. I found AMG online and I gave them a call. Mr. Alex Levesque came out, looked over my car and gave me some good advice regarding how to keep it running. Unfortunately, this was around the start of Covid. Mr. Levesque informed me A.M.G. would not have the capacity to work on my car due to mandatory shutdowns. But this was not the end of my relationship with Mr. Levesque. Whenever I had questions regarding my car or any car, I would give Mr. Levesque a call. He would help me by sharing his knowledge and connections. He referred me to his friend whom owned a parts store that specialized in classic car parts. Some parts for my car are nearly impossible to locate. Mr. Levesque’s friends treated me like family and enjoyed the challenge of searching for parts I needed. As Covid lifted and the world opened again, Mr. Levesque was very busy because his shop was filled with projects that had been paused due to the prior government mandated shutdowns. So, there was no available space in his shop to work on my car. This is what truly shocked me, he offered to teach me whatever I needed to know about maintaining my classic car. He allows me to come to his shop and learn hands-on about body work, interior work, engine work, etc….. This enabled me to confidently complete projects on my car. Before I began spending time at the A.M.G. shop, my idea of Mr. Levesque was wrong. He is not just a shop owner that works on cars for profit, like most other mechanics I had contacted during my search for assistance with my car. Mr. Levesque is so much more! He truly cares about people and he gives his all to help advance everyone around him towards their greatest potential. In the beginning, what I saw as just a garage where car repairs are done, I found it to be so much more. His shop is a school where young guys learn to be men! He teaches life lessons as he shares his knowledge of the automotive industry. The A.M.G. shop has kickstarted some exciting careers. I just saw a custom car sell for over 1 million dollars that was built by a young man that started his automotive journey learning from Mr. Levesque at the A.M.G. shop. I feel very blessed that Mr. Levesque has welcomed me into this space he has created. My hands-on experiences has opened my eyes regarding what goes into these car projects. There is a huge about of work that is required. In most cases you will not know how long it will take to complete a project until you start the work. I worked on a Jeep project where we could not see how much rust and body filler was on this jeep until we begun to sand and remove body panels. Mr. Levesque truly cares about his customers, so we continued to work with what was there without the customer taking on more cost replacing every body panel. I learned it takes patience and a lot of hours of sanding to correct issue where rust has been covered with paint and body filler. After the purchase of my classic car, I was very anxious about completing my car. Now, I know it will take time and money to get my project to what I want it be. Thanks to A.M.G. I am enjoying working on projects just as much as finishing my car. I learn something new every project.
I met Alex at the March 2022 Indianapolis Autorama in where they had a display set up. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with Alex and learned a lot about the AMG Group. Alex seemed genuinely interested in building rapport and relationship rather than just asking for a donation of support of the organization first. I will be following up with the group soon. I visited the Automotive Mentoring Group with my nephew for a tour, hoping to enroll him in the program. I found Alex Levesque to be very passionate — his demeanor clearly reflected his dedication to the work he does. As a licensed broker with my own aspiration to inspire young people to pursue real estate ownership, he invited me to return and teach a class to his students on the process of purchasing a home. I was impressed that, in addition to teaching students a valuable trade at AMG, they also provide important life lessons and resources. This place is phenomenal. My nephew loves it!
