The City Institute offer a robust perspective of Detroit's history-highlighting architectural gems and major assets of downtown while also shedding light on the racist policies that have impacted residents. They are master storytellers and weave together rich context for understanding this magnificent city.
City Institute customized a tour for our medical residents to learn more about the neighborhoods that their patients are coming from, providing historical context to difficult issues like segregation and structural racism. The tour was honest and also fun despite some heavy topics. The price was also fair and reasonable given the tour guide's expertise. We will definitely use City Institute again to help in education.
Do the scavenger hunt! Go on the tour! Book them!! I booked this experience for my team who are not from Detroit and they absolutely LOVED it and I loved it as a Detroiter. I learned so much and so did they. They came out of it with a totally different viewpoint of the city and want to come back!
