Coffee Time

What a gorgeous comfy space. It's bigger on the inside!

This place used to be the old late night hang out. It's still cool, but a little bit try-hard. I guess that's the neighborhood now. The building across the street used to rent for $400 a month, now it's a condo and 400k, for that same studio apartment! So if you spend that for your studio condo you need to look at a try hard coffee shop, I guess.

The whole place is incredibly cozy, but there’s a back room that would be the best place to sit with a book or a laptop to work with coziness off the charts. The latte was good, the baristas are chill, the sandwich wasn’t bad. Absolutely would recommend.

Both times that I’ve been in the coffee was amazing Barista Raine makes an amazing lavender latte and is always professional and friendly! A great coffee shop and great staff!

This is my favorite coffee shop in Portland by huge margins. Not only do they have great coffee, the baristas are fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and the shop itself is a super cool layout! Whether or not you need to study from 7 to 12 or you're just getting coffee with a friend, Coffee Time is the best place to do it. Students, they're open to midnight and it's a nice quiet place to study most of the time!

This coffee shop is o.g. Portland, and its current iteration is the best one yet. They roast their own through Cascadia Coffee Roasters, and their food and staff are always fantastic. Plus, great wine selection.

Good quality espresso and drip. Most of their menu are very competitively priced, you may be hard pressed to actually find cheaper espresso or drip on 21st/23rd. Definitely worth a try 👍 Oh, and the atmosphere is SO comfortable. I would describe it as "chilling on a good friends couch" vibes 👌

I used to come to coffee time back in the day when it had really great customer service and a lot of neighborhood regulars. I'm talking before the current owners. This used to be a really chill, laid-back FRIENDLY place and the staff and your drink were what really made your experience. This afternoon (7/25/24) I went into Coffee Time having not been in for a while due to my last experience. I won't go into detail but suffice it to say that the guy working was so unfriendly, insufferably arrogant and dismissive that I've decided not to come back. It wasn't an easy decision because I've been coming to coffee time since early 2000s when I moved into the neighborhood. I'm simply tired of having a TIP demand shoved in my face every time I come into order/pay. It wouldn't be so bad if the person behind the counter had actually earned my tip... If they weren't so flat in their affect and acting as if I've disturbed their ME time. This guy just acted like he was bored stiff and hated his Job. I think he's been working their way too long and it definitely shows. If management is there then you see people trying harder to act as if they care about the customer & their experience.. which is very insincere. There is such a lack of friendliness and I am often met with dead pan faces, no smile and to top it all off the majority of baristas are incredibly slow. Which is surprising considering the fact that they actually do very little. This is evident in the fact that you can tell that the place hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in quite a while. I stopped actually eating any food prepared there, some time ago. I used to be a barista back in the day and people often looked at making a drink as an art form, often working on their drinks to perfect them with little designs on the top in foam etc. Coffee time has lost that real coffee culture feeling. My drink is inconsistent because nobody really cares about the drink they're making. Overall, the service has really declined, both in customer service, friendliness, cleanliness and atmosphere. With so much deadpan unfriendliness it's hard to feel good about walking in to my neighborhood coffee shop anymore. (7/25/24)

I have been searching for an espresso tonic ever since returning from Europe several months ago. Sure, some coffee shops in Portland offer it, but Coffee Time is the only place I've tried that nailed the beverage! A wonderful balance of bitter, sweet, and espresso flavor. Thank you Coffee Time for existing!
