Solar Energy Solutions has been my solar provider since the 2004 installation of solar hot water system. In 2012 Andrew retrofit the glycol system to deionized water with the installation of an expansion tank. This year 2022, Andrew replaced the leaking electric hot water tank (not the solar tank) with an AO Smith heat pump hot water tank. Through the years I have always had positive interactions with Solar Energy Solutions. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable, reliable, readily explains the work he will be doing and is always pleasant. I highly recommend Solar Energy Solutions. 👍

Going solar requires a lot of steps, but Solar Energy Solutions made it as painless as possible. They were a pleasure to work with, and I would use them again, if I ever have the need.

We requested three bids for installation of our solar system. The bids were all very close,; one company did everything online, another did everything on a laptop sitting in our living room, and Solar Energy Solutions (SEC) came to our house, checked for obstructions to sunlight, adequacy of roof support, roof orientation, answered questions, took measurements, and explained in detail the process on installation (permits, timeline, required approvals). SEC hit every milestone on time, or ahead of time, communicated regularly so that we knew where we stood, provided all the paperwork we needed for obtaining credits. Our project could have hardly gone any better. Since installation the system has performed exactly as expected. We've not paid for any wattage even though we used a food drier quite a bit. With a Sunny Boy inverter, we have emergency backup if we have sun, and we keep a deep cycle battery charged to use with another small inverter in case we have an outage when there's no sun. We have no reservation recommending SEC.

I have a 12-year old hot water system installed by Mr. Sun Solar. For the past year, I noticed the heat transfer fluid was heavily aeriated and causing the pump to cavitate, which reduced the efficiency of the system. I contacted Andrew and his opinion was the fluid level had dropped. At first, he encouraged me to add fluid myself, but when I looked at the system configuration, it was clear to me that adding fluid myself was beyond my skillset. A subsequent call was made to Andrew to set an appointment for him to come and inspect the system and remediate any issues. As he expected, the system needed 2 gallons of fluid and now works like new. Andrew is very professional and his services are a good value.

I believe that solar energy is important, and I am glad that Andrew is providing that service. However, when I developed a leak in my roof after the installation, he came by to troubleshoot. He spent a half hour applying cauking, and then wanted to charge me $200 for that service, for a problem his company created. He also told me that "that's why when you purchased the system I advised you to inspect the the roof every year and apply caulking where needed". I don't recall him saying that, and there is no way I would ever climb up on my sloped roof. The leak recurred despite his efforts, so I contracted for a new roof. The roofers are here today and told me that he installed the system through the plywood of the roof, instead of the rafters, which caused the leak. If you use his or any other company, please be sure to have them work with a licensed roofing company.

I had a great experience with Solar Solutions. Very communicative, very prompt. Very easy system and also very fast heating for my pool. Were able to get the job done way ahead of schedule and made absolutely sure they went over everything and wanted to be sure I understood what I needed to do to make things work smoothly before leaving. Also very available to answer questions quickly with assurance that any problems that may arise I was welcome to call at any time. Very satisfied and Very grateful they were recommended to me. I wouldn’t have wanted to go with anyone else.

I bought my house about 8 years ago, and this house came with a swimming pool and solar water heater panels for the pool. Since our daughter was just born then, we decided not to use the pool and closed the pool for the past 8 years. Now that she is a good swimmer, we decided to open the pool. We have new electrical wiring for the new variable speed pump and brand new filter. And it was time to turn on the solar water heater. As soon as I turned it on, it started leaking. Fortunately Andrew's business card was still stapled on my pool shed wall and he kept the same number for all these years. I called him and he called me back right away. He came over to my place the next day, and started working on my solar water heater. I told him that I was thinking about purchasing a natural gas heater to extend the season. That would have cost me over $2500 since I have a 30k gallon pool. He said I would not need one since the solar heating is very efficient, but his suggestion was to give this season a try without a supplemental heating and if we are not happy, then we can install a heater next season. I thought this was a reasonable suggestion. He immediately worked on the leaks, and plugged all of them up in no time. As it turned out, he installed them in 1991. So I have a 25 year old solar water heater. As soon as he finished repairing the solar heaters, I turned on the pump and I could see that the pool temperature was rising right away. The temperature went up by 10 degrees, from frigid 63 degrees to more comfortable 73 degrees, in about 4 hours and that evening all of us are swimming in the pool. Who knows for how long my solar water heater was not operational, but mere couple of hundred bucks and one hour later it was up and running. It shows that the product he carries are of very high quality and his workmanship withstands years of harsh environment. I am quite happy to learn that we didn't have to replace any of our solar water heater panels and Andrew didn't push me to spend more money with him. However, he made a recommendation to get an automated valve so that when the solar heater isn't efficient, it bypasses the solar and just recirculates the pool water so that we would not lose any heat through the solar heater panels. I thought this was good idea, and Andrew came back the next day and installed the automated valve and it works very well. I am hoping that we are going to have a lot of comfortable fun with our swimming pool this season. Thank you, Andrew!

This is our second project with Andrew K. He has been great to work with; knowledgeable, straight answers, prompt and most importantly meticulous and a detailed oriented worker/owner. Recent project entailed installing 9 Sunstar panels to provide solar heating for our in ground pool. I expect many years of service and a comfortable pool….as long as I can keep the squirrels at bay.
