I can't say enough about the nurses that visit. They are amazing! As far as getting in touch with anyone, that's a different story. My wife has a wound vac. We are having issues with it staying connected. We called home health at 2:30 A.M. and she left all the information that the voicemail required. No call back as of 10:00 A.M. She called back. Left another message. Got a call back. Person said to cover the wound with gauze and they would see if they could get someone to us. Called back again at 12:30 P.M. for information on a timeline as to when someone might come, as I had to leave for work. Voicemail again. This time no call back. She called 3 more times. No call back. I'm almost positive that a nurse was not contacted about this. We were told before we left the hospital that Vanderbilt Home Health provided 24/7 care. Obviously, this is not true. The sad part is we both work for Vanderbilt. I don't expect special treatment because of that, but it makes me wonder how others get treated.
I thought We are the only one having problems with this place. They are terrible. The office staff doesn't care, management doesn't care about patients. Therapists are rude without and any motivation. Office workers, specially schedule workers are rude, unprofessional and hateful like thay hate every minute on the job.Stay away if you think get help for your loved one.
I would give this place zero stars. The nurses are wonderful, this review is for the main office, specifically, the scheduler, (or lack there of) Ida. She is an awful person. She has no compassion, consideration, nor does she care about the patients/families or her employees' concerns/needs/wants. She only cares about placing nurses on cases that generate the most income. I am not sure if this is a person problem or company problem, but I know for sure Ida, herself, is AWFUL to deal with. As a company, there is no communication between staff, nurses, and families. They (the staff, not the nurses) are not reliable at all for doing their job to schedule nurses, so if you have a nurse that calls out, plan for your day to be screwed up as well because they do not care and will not look for any replacements, ever. For example, (and this happens ALL the time) We have multiple nurses that want to work with our family but Ida will not allow them to and instead keeps telling us "no one is available" and places those nurses on cases they do not want to be at, as a result, they quit and Vandy is now "short staffed."
I wish they still cared about their patients like they used to. Now it seems like whoever has the most money gets the help while long time clients are abandoned. What has happened to this place?
I do not recommend Vanderbilt Home Health for wound care. The nurses are sweethearts but the staff at the main office are horrible. They don’t take accountability for their mishaps and do not know how to communicate. I have not been scheduled three times and no one called. My order says daily wound care and if they couldn’t do it they should have said that at the beginning so I could make proper arrangements. I use Vanderbilt for all my md needs but this has definitely put a dislike to the brand.
I have been in using Vanderbilt Home Health Care Services off , and on since 2005 . Each time I have been more than happy with them . The people they employ are , caring and knowledgeable . From regular visits , to the unexpected emergency . Always prompt , and professional. I can be a stubborn, willful patient . They have a way of getting you in the right mindset to reach your goals , no matter how frustrated you get . Honestly I have the utmost respect for this company and its employees . If you care about your loved ones these people are the ones you want looking after them .
I had to admit I was worried about my disabled son (age 18) getting therapy from a home health company but the PT, OT and ST's that have been working with my son are phenomenal! I can't speak to nursing as we only had one nurse come out one time but I can't say enough good things about the therapists. Thank you Vandy Home Health therapists for the work you have done and continue to do with my son!
I did not have a problem with Vanderbilt Home Health until a month ago When I had a new aid name mary she want to tell my dad what time to get up i thank he should not be made to up at 8:00am in the morning he is 88 years old he his lots of health problems. I have addressed this with the Schedule, Dana and Paula, but they could not seem to do any thing about it.I am know looking for another home health.
The patient has to buy their own supplies! VHC comes in 3 times a week to do wound care for my husband and I do it the rest of the week . We have had to go to Walgreens on several occasions, or beg for supplies from the doctor. They are supposed to order the supplies and provide them.
The nurses are very good for the most part, however the schedulers are terrible. They do not put crucial appointments on the schedule leaving the patient/caregivers to deal with their mistakes. I would not want to use them again, nor would I reccomend them.
