This place is awesome! We were excited to check out KC’s first blacked owned brewery and we were not disappointed. It’s a great addition to the historic jazz district and the building is quite unique. They have a bar both upstairs and downstairs with places to sit and play games and a fantastic outdoor space as well. I had the Paper Bag Thin Mexican lager, which is my favorite beer in a while and I also enjoyed the Snakes in the Wheat. My wife LOVED the Life of the Party sour. Excited to go back soon.
Pretty cool live atmosphere to spend an evening out with friends. The beer was good and different. I definitely will be back to try more out. My only complaint is the female employee upstairs with red hair seemed to be on edge, mad or something. Didn't make us feel very welcome in the beginning, but luckily her coworkers were not the same.

We always have a memorable experience here. The owners are great, the location, and selection are just right. Lots of seating and nice music. Say hello to Woodie when you have a chance!
Great beer and a really cool space! Staff was attentive and friendly. Wish the patio had more shade and much more seating. Had to stand a lot. We were headed to the last gazebo thing and were told we couldn’t sit there as it was outside of their permitted area. Found that very confusing but they eventually put up a barrier. Loved the live music and the food from the adjoining restaurant was good. They say kid friendly but FYI they don’t have any highchairs at brewery or restaurant. Street parking was a little hard to find but doable. We will definitely be back!
Really good beers! I even liked the sour they have (and I DON’T do sours lol). The Paper Bag Thin Mexican style lager was especially refreshing. Love the layout of the place, as well. You can tell they really put some love into this place. Keeping the graffiti on the walls was a nice little urban touch. Definitely try the place out. Perfect new addition to Kansas City’s beer scene.

First time here and we will definitely come back! They have a good variety of beers and atmosphere. It’s located in a very old building that has been gutted. They offer live music and festivals but we were there too early. Support a local business!
This is one of my favorite breweries, anywhere. From life of the party to Jazz Man, everything here is really good. The people working here are great too. I have been there at least a dozen times since they opened. I have never been disappointed. Headed there now!
Well worth the wait. The space, beer, and people all combine to make this a must visit part of any trip to KC.
