Great patio, friendly and helpful staff, and tasty brews - although missing IPAs on the beer list. The Hood Saison is worth the trip.
More than meets the eye! My wife found this place on a whim. Did not expect to find the vibrance in this diverse establishment that was filled with an upstairs that had a guitar player and people who were talking and hanging out. But looking downstairs we saw a whole other floor with more vibrance and entrance to outside patio complete with sights of the vine area. Unique building with character, good company, and little bit of everything where everyone has a place. A great spot to check out this summer
Great spot! Varied and tasty beer selection, friendly staff, big space and really cool decor. I stayed here for a few hours with my buddy and played a sports trivia game over their delicious beers. They had NFL on downstairs, and I think a nice patio but it was raining really hard so I stayed inside. Def worth a visit!
Vine Street Brewing Taproom open as of June 30, 2023. Missouri’s first black-owned brewery just blocks from the historic 18th & Vine jazz district. Very cool space, as they’ve renovated some historic municipal buildings (the brewery occupying the “Street Department” building. Two levels of seating, with a patio out back. I had the Maris, and it’s exactly what I want in a pale ale—refreshing with some bite and not too dry. I also appreciate that they are an Untappd verified venue so I can check in advance what’s on tap. Will definitely be back as they expand production. HUGE crowd for opening day!!!
Exceptional brewery with a chill vibe putting out great beers. The East 71 was my fav... super smooth and easy. What I love most is how incredibly welcoming everyone was. It's like going to your very best friend's house, having the best night hanging out. You can tell the owners love people and love representing what Vine Street is about. Will be back with many more friends in tow💯😎♥️🙏
Every beer here was fantastic. The staff were also super cool and got to tell me about the history of the building the place is in. And they have hotdogs on Thursday!
First and only Black Owned brewery in KC! More importantly, it was really good with tasty beers, wide range of styles, and the staff were all engaging, welcoming, helpful, and friendly. They have board games to play, good areas to sit and chat. The location is in one of the old Castle style Stone buildings on Vine. Food can be gotten from The Spot which shares an entrance. We did not eat, but menu looked good. My friends and I will be back.
Vibrant and colorful space in super interesting repurposed building. I love the vibe, and the beers were actually good. I have historically been underwhelmed by smaller and newer breweries, but you know what… I really liked the two beers I tried (they closed at 8:30p) so was unable to try more. I tried the Dubs and the Midnight Mississippi and both were very good. The stout was big and roasty not over bodied, maybe a hint of dark chocolate bitter. It was one of the better local microbrew stouts I’ve had. Dubs was nice. Due to the place closing I was unable to experience the patio or any food options, but I liked it and need to give it another try. Indoors was ridiculously loud as if there was a jazz band warming up somewhere and it was difficult to hear people across the table. I’d love to try it again and bump the rating. Price was pretty normal for the local breweries. Staff was friendly.
Great beers, historic building and location near the Jazz District. Good beers, atmosphere, 2 levels plus a nice outdoor area. A must go if from KC or any visitors to the city
