James and his team are simply the best contractors I have ever encountered. Period. They did a major renovation on our apartment, which was subsequently featured on a Dwell home tour, and in New York Magazine's "Design Hunting." Their craftsmanship is top notch. But what really distinguishes them is their integrity. They do what they say they are going to do. On time. On budget. Plus they treat your house like a home, not like a construction site. They are careful to protect everything to the nth degree, and also clean everything up every night. If you want the best, go with West Village.

We've completed 4 different home renovation projects with various contractors and West Village was, hands-down, the very best. The work was performed 100% within budget and ahead of schedule. The work was of excellent quality. There was clear communication throughout and no surprises. The entire project was stress-free! We will happily use West Village again on any future projects.

When unexpected structural concerns arose, they communicated transparently and proposed effective solutions. Their problem-solving skills were commendable. 6. Overall Satisfaction Our apartment now feels like a brand-new space. The transformation is remarkable, and we owe it to the dedicated team at WVGC. West Village Contractors are the only contractors we have worked with over the years who have integrity and take great pride in their work...a lost art for the most part -- but not with these guys. The first time we worked with them, they came in after a flood and redid the entire ceiling (and living area) which is quite a feat considering our ceiling is a piece of art in itself (with sharp angles and lines jutting out to delineate the dining area). Their precision was astounding and it ended up looking cleaner and of higher quality than the first time around. We used them again to replace the cabinets in our kitchen. They made sure every detail was EXACTLY as we asked -- and we are quite picky to say the least. Our loft is a modern space featured in Dwell Magazine - and we worry that contractors won't respect that we really care about each and every detail that the architect created. It might seem silly to some, but to us -- our apt is a part of who we are -- and the fact that West Village respects that means we would never use anyone else. Every day the team left our apt. completely clean -- always making sure everything was covered correctly and that they didn't damage anything while working. If there was anything a hair out of place, they fixed it. They were polite and professional. You can't get better than West Village.

In 2023/24 We collaborated with James Mansfield and his team at West Village GC as the Landscape Designers on an Interior Renovation project in Lower Manhattan on the West Side. A beautiful home made more beautiful by the stunning quality of work produced by WVGC. The efficiency and grace in which they conducted business on a daily basis was unparalleled and communications were always clear and tracked. As a subcontractor for this project however, what I held in the highest regard, was the humanity and kindness that we shared no matter what this project threw at us. If you are in need of GC services, without a doubt, WVGC is the best. And with the amount of time one spends with a GC for the life of a project, these are the people you want to spend that time with. I look forward to the next project we get to work alongside each other.

Unbelievable team that kept me in the loop every step of the way, from the initial proposal, throughout the demo, until the final walk through. Very helpful in guiding me through this renovation process which can be quite stressful, but our Site Supervisor was extremely helpful, professional, informative, and pleasant, we felt at ease. Additionally, the job site was always tidy and clean at the end of the day. The best part was, the renovation finished on time and on budget. I absolutely love my beautiful new kitchen and bathroom and would highly recommend West Village to looking to any type of work, large or small.

Working with WVGC was one of the best experiences we have had with a contractor. Following a horrific 2 year nightmare with a previous designer and her incompetent team of contractors who had botched our remodel, it was not easy to find another contractor who would be willing and available to come in and repair someone else's work...especially a contractor we could trust. James and his team at WVGC were not only willing to help, make time for us immediately... they exceeded all of our expectations. They were absolutely lovely from start to finish. With Emily coordinating the project and Leszek helming at the job site. The most professional, knowledgeable and collaborative team I have encountered.
