Stopped in for brunch during a holiday visit to PHL. A Kitchen is cozy and the food was excellent. I had the wagyu steak frites (with egg) and a biscuit - it was as good as it looks - see photo.
A little loud but the service was good, really liked the chickpea panisse, the half chicken excellent, not crazy abt the dessert with too much hazelnut creme but everything great otherwise.
Paul is one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered. The service was exceptional, the cocktail and wine list hitting well above its weight. Both my interactions and observed interactions with other guests left me smiling. What a wonderful experience, a rarity. What a gem of a restaurant and person
Food: GOOD. We only tried a few apps with our drinks. And they were decent and reasonably priced for being center and close to Rittenhouse Sq. Drinks: EXCELLENT. Beautifully crafted and tasty. It was the highlight! Service: EXCELLENT. Atmosphere: FUN. We sat outside on the sidewalk. It was very cute and fun. Overall: I would come back.
The restaurant offers a set fix priced menu on Sundays which changes frequently, and when we visited it was delicious. The food quality and the meal experience with the wine pairing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The only thing I personally dislike, they have to set table when you came, the food is good! I hope the service will improve and be close to fine dining experience. The atmosphere is fine, I don’t think I enjoy it. I like the fish a lot, I would rather to do take out than eat there.
Came here for the first time yesterday. We’ve been wanting to come here for the last 10 years and never did until yesterday. It was well worth the wait. The ambience was perfect made it feel super cozy and inviting. Once seated we were greeted by our waitress Elizabeth C. She was beyond sweet was able to help us navigate the menu and give us her suggestions . As well as explaining each dish throughly . We ended up going with two rounds of gougeres which were delicious and well worth it . As well as the Cesar salad, shrimp, and the prime rib amongst other dishes we tried . Everything was absolutely delicious. Compliments to the chef(s) of the evening, they did a wonderful job. Upon Elizabeth bringing us our main course of the prime rib she gifted us a complimentary glass of wine that paired perfectly with our meal. This is definitely a 10/10 place. We will be back again and would love to have Elizabeth again.
If you are not a vegetarian, please take this review with a grain of salt since we did not taste the meat dishes. We ordered three things - the gougères, crispy oyster mushrooms and the panisse. The gougères were bland. Not only did they lack any flavor whatsoever, but they also weren’t seasoned adequately. For a dish that sounds so good on paper (choux puffs stuffed with cream and cheese) we were extremely disappointed and despised the dish. The crispy oyster mushrooms were….well crispy oyster mushrooms. They did not have any flavor that stood out because the aioli served with them was also just okay. My issue with this one was that they had a meaty taste which seemed like it was a result of frying them in the same oil as meat. Panisse was good because it was served with this lip-smacking creamy eggplant dip in the base alongside some cherry and sundried tomatoes. The panisse themselves could do with more seasoning and adding some herb to the chickpea batter would have taken it to the next level. I have had the real deal in South of France (the place where it originated) and adding herbs to the panisse makes a monumental difference in the flavor. We ended up spending ~$35 per person for three dishes which was absolutely not worth it. My advice to the management would be to season these dishes to add some more flavor and price them appropriately. As for all vegetarians reading this review - give this place a miss. You aren’t losing out!
A random pick for us since we were staying nearby at the Rittenhouse Hotel for the Flower Show. I am glad we chose it! It was one of the best restaurant meals I have experienced. My comparison, not in style or cuisine because they are so different but in quality of food is Jose Andres Zaytinya in DC or La Bernardin in NYC
I wanted to take my parents out for a special occasion and I'm so glad we came here. The wine, the food, the service ... each of us had a wonderful dining experience. Our server, Juan, was a total pro and he and the kitchen were very accommodating of my dad's dietary restrictions. I can't wait to come back!
