Great hospitality and experience sitting by the chef’s counter. Absolutely amazing visual presentation where you could feel the food made freshly. Duck was both flavorful and cooked with perfect temperature!

Had an amazing birthday dinner at a.kitchen. The cocktails and wine were great and the service was spot on. The food was super fresh and full of flavor. We tried the French puff cheese pastries (gougères), whipped tofu, ricotta rosette, and the wagyu bavette steak—everything was excellent. Definitely recommend.

I think I just found my favorite spot in Philly! Super cozy vibe and the food’s great. Tried the breakfast and loved it! Went back again for the burger, it was good, but the blue cheese flavor was a bit strong for me. Still really liked it overall!

Fantastic atmosphere. Restaurant was a little bit loud but not more than expected. Lighting and atmosphere was great. Service was phenomenal. The clam and spaghetti dish that I ordered was a little bit too salty, but they took care of it and got me something else. (Sopresine verde) which was amazing and delicious. For an appetizer, we had a dozen oysters and the Crudo. I can’t recommend those appetizers enough. Make sure that you also ask for the house hot sauce. I have absolutely no complaints because everything was literally fantastic.

This was the most accommodating dining experience I’ve ever had as a celiac. The staff was very knowledgeable on which items were gluten free/could be modified to be gluten free. They even fried our oyster mushrooms in a separate pot of oil, knowing that the general fryer was contaminated. And everything we had was delicious!!

We visited specifically for Sunday brunch. The environment was quite loud, and the space felt very limited. We were seated so close to other guests that it almost felt as though we were sharing a table with them. We ordered the French omelette, oyster mushrooms, grilled cheese, pot de crème, a cappuccino, and two coffees, totaling $95 before tip. Unfortunately, the quality, portion sizes, and overall flavor left room for improvement. A $22 omelette served with a small portion of fries felt somewhat pretentious for what was offered. I wouldn’t discourage visiting for other meals, but I would recommend skipping this spot for brunch.

I cannot recommend enough eating at a kitchen for an elite dining experience. Not only is the food incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection, but the service here is impeccable. Our server Juan S. made sure my girlfriend and I were left wanting nothing. He was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some great recommendations, and provided a top-tier service throughout our meal. Definitely will have to come back sometime!

a.kitchen+bar has many reasons to be snobby, but it isn't. The drink program consistently presents some of the best wines and cocktails; im consistently impressed. The brunch and dinner menus feature a stable list of well-tested items; while the menu isn't a revolving door of boundary pushing innovation, when they do innovate, they do it so well, and the best items stay put. The crispy oyster mushrooms are one of my favorite dishes, and the cheeseburger is easily one of the best in the city. The service is friendly but not suffocating. While I recommend making reservations, there are many lazy Sunday afternoons where my friends and I have walked in and been promptly seated; a testament to how well they manage dining room flow.

Garlic Gnocchi was amazing. Food was all on point except pasta and claws which was too salty for my liking. Service was prompt but not rushed. This is a lively place so noise level is high but comfortable

The service at this restaurant was genuinely very good and probably the highlight of the entire experience. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and checked on us regularly without being overwhelming. Our food arrived fairly quickly, and everyone working there seemed professional and welcoming, which created a comfortable atmosphere throughout the meal. As for the food itself, it was decent but not especially memorable. While the presentation looked nice and the portions were reasonable, several dishes were noticeably saltier than expected. The strong seasoning made it harder to appreciate the individual flavors of the ingredients. Nothing tasted bad, but at the same time, nothing really stood out as particularly unique or impressive either. The restaurant overall feels like a solid and reliable place if you value good hospitality and a pleasant dining environment. However, based on the food alone, I personally did not feel it was exceptional enough to fully live up to the hype or pricing. With a little more balance in seasoning and a few more distinctive flavors, the experience could have been much better.
