Not sure why we took so long to come here - it blew away my expectations! Fantastic food, great dimly lit atmosphere, and wonderful service. We had a lot here - the mussels, oysters, the cheese ball app, carrots, half chicken, steak, and panna cotta and loved every bite. I will be back!

Enthusiasts of olfactory indulgences will find delight in the unique mixology of veteran bartender Paul Pavelka. Presented with the seemingly impossible task of recommending a cocktail with no guidance from me, Paul didn’t hesitate. Through some act of divination, scrying, or whichever dark arts bartenders practice in their shadow realm, he summoned one of his own creations. With a sly smile, he placed before me a beverage that I regret to admit will haunt me forever. And by haunt, I mean I will spend the rest of my life searching for this drink the way one searches for a lost lover in the eyes of strangers and passersby. To begin describing it, I’d compare the experience to falling for a Le Labo fragrance- complex without showing off, with an aromatic warmth of spice that lingers like embers in a dying fire. If this drink were a physical place, it would be an Edwardian parlor at night- the kiss of bourbon gently biting the palate, incense and winter spice hanging in the air, dark tapestries, worn leather, and the faint trace of cigar smoke- and the feeling that the veil has grown just a little thinner in the late hours of the evening.

Had brunch yesterday here for 3. We all had the Rittenhouse breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly, delicious potatoes. Came with breakfast meat or salad. Also tried cornmeal pancakes. Amazing. Great service and atmosphere. Neat brunch I’ve had in the city in a long time.

I LOVED this restaurant. The ambiance is cozy and warm. No harsh lighting. Great natural light as well. The food is incredible - the best beet salad and grilled cheese I’ve ever had…seriously. No exaggeration. Reagan was our server and she was attentive and super nice! They have a full coffee bar so we enjoyed our lattes with brunch. Brunch is served from 10-3. Overall an exceptional experience. 1000/10 would recommend.

Fabulous restaurant near Rittenhouse Square. We discovered this restaurant the other day when "Parc" was too busy. Wonderful dinner menu, especially the pork chop and the half chicken. Nice wine selection (nice dry Riesling from the Mosel area in Germany) and great outdoor seating. Excellent service. The chicken liver toast appetizer was delicious.

A really nice French-American restaurant at the aka hotel which also had a separate bar to wait for your reservation. Good drinks menu. We liked all the appetizers- caramelized onion bread and the mushrooms really stood out. The monkfish entree was well done with a tuna flavored sauce but felt a bit cold at spots. Potato gnocchi was modified into a vegetarian dish which was pretty good.

On a cold Saturday afternoon in the heart of Rittenhouse Square, A Kitchen was the perfect place to settle in and warm up: we sat at the bar and enjoyed a French omelette filled with caramelized onions, broccoli, sprouts, and creamy Boursin, served with perfectly fried potatoes or their delicious cheeseburger with all the accoutrements done just right. Everything was comforting yet thoughtfully prepared, showcasing the kitchen’s attention to detail and balance of flavors. Paired with an IPA called Dead Flowers, the meal felt effortless and inviting—overall, a superb dining experience that captures exactly why A Kitchen is such a standout in the neighborhood.

Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great. We had a toddler and they were very accommodating. Food was on the saltier side, especially the monkfish dish we had, but overall everything we tried was enjoyable. Our favorite were the crudo and the panisse. People seem to love the gnocchi but we thought it was average. Gougere was cold. We did love the desserts, especially the pot de creme, which they comped for us! Will come back again!

Great intimate restaurant for special occasions. It is dark in here and quite noisy, so if you're not into that be warned. Everything we had was delicious though. Service was fantastic. The staff knew it was our anniversary and gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate which was incredibly nice of them.

I love coming here to sit at the chef’s counter; it’s the best seat in the house. Recommend coming with one or two other people and ordering a bunch of dishes to share. The sommelier is extremely knowledgeable. The food is great and menu changes all the time, so you can have a different experience each time you go. The gnocchi is a must!
