3 stars for atmosphere because the ventilation is terrible and you walk out smelling like the joint. Big ding on the burger. The grind is too fine and the patty too compacted. The meat ends up steamed and mushy if rare, steamed and dry if medium. Just flavorless. The medium rare steak was charred and unfortunately the really nice red wine reduction just emphasized the acrid flavor.
The best restaurant in Queen Anne, and one of the best in Seattle easily. Service, atmosphere and especially food are always great. The burger is great, the frites are great and the aioli that comes with them is very unique and tasty. The herbed vinaigrette on the green salad is very good. Great Lasagne. Most recently had the Ancho Lamb Shank, and it was by far the best slow cooked meat dish I've had at a seattle restaurant. Also would recommend the charcuterie/cheese plate. The quality of the cheeses and meats is very high, and the plates come out looking very pretty. Just a very simple menu done well, at a very high level.
I came here one evening to get out of my routine and relax as a local. I requested to be sat in the bar and met some regulars who were really nice to talk to. The atmosphere is very nice and unpretentious. I was fortunate to be served by the owner, Angie. I requested her to make me a rye whiskey cocktail, bartenders choice which was delicious! The menu is very approachable. I almost went straight to an entree but a few items intrigued me so I order a few smaller dishes to compliment each other. I got the Prosciutto & Melon, fresh oysters, Watermelon Gazpacho, and the marinated olives. Everything was so delicious! I order a glass of rosé recommended by Angie and another round of oysters for dessert. All around the best atmosphere, food and service I have gotten in years! Fantastic meal and service. We had a reservation for our group of 6 on a busy Friday evening. Lots of locals from the neighborhood dining. The baguette with butter and oil was so good - warm and crunchy crust and freshest butter. Winter Waltz rye cocktail was excellent. Great salad with squash and the fish was cooked to perfection. Great spot for an evening with friends. Friendly service.
It is a good place to mingle and socialize, they offer a variety of drinks. However the food does not match the high price tag. They are fairly small amount. Black cod, duck, these dishes are not enough for an average adult man. They do offer some nice sides such as fries.
Betty is amazing! The staff is so courteous and knowledgeable, and they accommodated food allergies easily and graciously. The food is excellent, and the vibe is modern and intimate. Great place for date night!
Great location, delicious food, and incredible cocktail/beer/wine menu! The atmosphere is laid back and the service was really top notch during the dinner rush.
A gem of a neighborhood restaurant. I LOVE their roasted chicken with seasonal vegetables, and they always have delicious salads. The burger is also massive. Overall a nice menu selection, good drinks, and the staff are always nice. It can get a bit busy in the evenings, so booking a table ahead might be advisable.
The chefs seems to really know what they are doing. The food was good. I'd like to see more healthy options on the menu, but the food tastes amazing. The staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It's expensive though. I got an entree and a glass of wine and it was over $50.
They didn’t have any vegan substitutions - so making something vegan just meant they’d remove the tasty stuff. :( I ordered a couple of sides, and while they were pretty good, they seemed far more expensive than what I expected for what I got. I ordered two Makeup Vanity cocktails, though, and those were incredible. I highly recommend those!
