While I agree, there are fees they charge that I haven't seen on my other bills in other states/counties. I wonder how many of those just aren't itemized on our statements in other areas, though. Nonetheless, my review is regarding customer service and their linemen. We had a crazy surge blow through and rip my line half out of my house. While I definitely had to wait, because I was absolutely not the only one affected, the way they handled the whole process from calling in to report the down line (seamless, no wait, fully automated), to my follow up inquiry with a live person (easy to get to someone but there was a high call volume, which was to be expected), to the linemen themselves when they got here. Very quick and kind. Had a larger than expected issue with my line and they called in reinforcements immediately instead of just putting me to the back of the line. I appreciated the kindness shown while I'm sure they are absolutely bombarded.

I have never called any company in my life where it has been so hard to get a hold of a human being. The phone services are the worst I have ever experienced. I tried to get a hold of them in multiple ways over multiple days. It was an absolute nightmare.

Lost my money order - had to get a new one printed and cancel the original one. They “found” the original check and tried to cash it then charged me for the check bouncing. Now they have turned my electric off without notice because they claim I haven’t paid but I have all my receipts to prove payment but can’t get anyone on the phone.

I have had nothing but issues with their payment system. They constantly change the due date of the payment each month, making it hard to keep track of the payment. I recently closed an account and added a new payment form, BPU charged BOTH the closed account and the new account resulting in a double payment. Obviously the closed account sent the money back so BPU charged me a return check fee, even though they are the ones that made the mistake! I called their Customer service line, was on hold for 30 minutes and then have to explain my situation twice because I kept getting transferred. Finally I talked to a manager and they said the double payment was my fault because I set up the payments incorrectly. I'm not saying I'm completely free of fault, but their website is very unclear and BPU certainly isn't willing to work with me on this. Again, they knew they had the correct account but still charged both and now I'm stuck with a return check fee. This is really disappointing, because I obviously cannot shop around Utility companies.. I'm just stuck with whatever the city chooses.

They’ve raised the hidden fees and taxes so high it’s impossible to even gauge how much our bill will be per month. Bill this month says we used $90 worth of electricity but our bill is just under $250. I live in a mobile home and keep the AC at 78-80 degrees most days. Talked to customer service and their response was that the board voted and approved these prices so we’re stuck with it. I caution you to think twice before moving to Wyandotte County which BPU services.

I’ve been trying to contact BPU all day because my power was shut off and I got no warning that it was being shut off. I live at village west luxury apartments and I thought my electric was included in my rent because I’ve lived there 6 months so far and it hasn’t been shut off nor have I gotten any bills. My apartment hasn’t been any help trying to get it turned on they told me to call even tho I don’t have an account number or anything like that because I never set up an account I’m just really irritated at both parties and customer service for BPU is non existent so don’t be surprised when I show up in a couple of hours

This utility company is trash, they don’t work with you. My utility payment varies every month, the date varies every month and why the hell is my utility payment more than my car payment when our bill shouldn’t be more than $150 but here I am paying $400-$500 every month in utilities. I’m so ready to get the hell out of Wyandotte county.

This business is a SHAME! Customer service are not trained, liars, incompetent and should be reprimanded and fired!! When they send customers on bogus trips for pymts, do not go over pertinent information, set you up on plans that are higher based on credit, turn your utilities off bc of there own mistakes and the supervisor is just as incompetent and they do not try and correct things! They just pass the buck!! The Better Business should be of help??

Completely inefficient. Website is unusable, no costumer service, no one communicates with each other. Called to ask about trees on my power line, sent me to someone’s personal sell. Said he would come look at it, never did and never answered the phone again. Trash service is terrible. Half the time doesn’t even get all the trash in the truck and always puts out can back to the wrong house (despite our house number being on it). Has never in the 3 years I have lived here picked up recycling, and there is no one to contact to fix it! I just get pushed around. There is currently a water break at our neighbors house, tried to report it but wouldn’t let us without giving their home phone number which we don’t have and they aren’t home. This entire company needs to be overhauled. Or Kck needs to have other options for trash/water/electricity. This is completely unacceptable. Does anyone even work there?
