I used Design Everest to complete the structural design for my extension. Overall, the experience with the company and individuals within the company was exceptional. Getting into a little bit more details - my initial negotiation and contract work was handled by Jessica P.. She stayed on top of my concerns, made sure she addressed all in a timely manner; and was happy adding some of my requested terms in the contract too. Once we signed the contract, she was in regular touch with me to keep a track of the city's planning approval of my architectural drawings. While we were waiting for the City Approvals, she got the as structural design work completed. As soon the city (Planning department) approved the design plans - she handed me off to her core team or structural engineers and a project manager - Mayank S. Mayank has since then been with me throughout the complete project. He got the structural drawings for submission completed on time - and the quality was great! We barely had a couple comments from the city - and most were clarification over actual redesign. Mayank responded to those in a timely fashion (< 24 hours turn around); so we could get the full package approved through the city and ready to get my building permit issued. Post that, Mayank stayed side by side through out the construction phase and answered every question the contractor or I had. The key thing to note - by now, I had already paid them in full, and our original contract only included 2-3 consults during constructions. But Mayank and Jessica had assured me they would stay by side throughout the project and they held to their words. Every 2 or so months, we would have questions for Mayank and the structural engineer - they would take approx 24 hours to get back to us with guidance/direction. So they literally stayed by our side, and continued the provide the same level of service that their sales team had provided to win the contract. I rarely see such kind off service in the construction space in the bay area. So was happy to see that; and would 100% recommend them to anyone. You will not regret going with Design Everest - (i can comment on the structural engineering services). They provide high quality work, at reasonable rates and have real high standards for their customer service.
We just got our plan approved! Many thanks to Design Everest, to our project team especially Lokesh and Manjit, for their hard work and the wonderful job done! It has been a pleasant experience working with them, very professional, always responsive, understanding and ready to help.
We had a wonderful experience working with Design Everest, and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home. We had a gnarly project that required multiple iterations from the city. There were quite a few nuanced requests from the city to update our plans and do structural reviews where necessary. Lokesh Bulchandani was our project manager for the project, and he did a fantastic job staying on top of all the requests. He streamlined all communication between the engineers and us. He also did a great job of spending time explaining the requests from the city, setting up meetings with the engineer and our other contractors where necessary. Lokesh was also on top of all the open action items and would follow up with us consistently if we had not responded for some time. The structural engineers’ work was done in high quality (no iterations required on their work from the city). We are super grateful to the hard work the Design Everest team put in to make sure our remodel application was a success. Thank you so much!!!
Design Everest was recommended by our interior designer for our full home remodel with addition of basement ADU. It's a large project with a number of engineering challenges, including moving or eliminating multiple walls as well as lowering the basement floor (which will require extensive foundation work). We worked with Lokesh and were extremely pleased. Design Everest was fast, responsive, reasonably priced, and got us the engineering plans we needed quickly. When we had a change order due to some changes we made to the design, they took care of this quickly as well and for a reasonable price. What more can you ask for from your engineering firm?
I have worked with 4-5 engineers over the last two years of running my architecture firm. Sadly, I hadn't quite found an engineer that was a good fit for me. After working with Design Everest on 3-4 different projects in the last few months, I've been really impressed. They have a clear pricing structure, thorough drawings and calculation packages, and excellent communication. They have taken the initiative to drive project progress and work well with owners and consultants. Highly recommend if you need any structural work done in the Bay Area!
I used Design Everest as the structural engineer and T24 engineer for my single family residential project in Big Bear California and I highly recommend their services. Here is a summary of my experience with the company. The first person I contacted on the company was Jessica Passage. She responded to my first request in the same day. Jessica was very professional and friendly, she was quick to respond to emails and was also available by text and phone. The project Manager for the Job was Ronak Thakker. Ronak was also very friendly and professional. He was very fast to respond to all my emails, usually he answer the emails short after have received it. He was also available by phone and text. The fast communication made the project progress very efficient. I was pleased with the structural drawings and Title 24 set that they submitted. I submitted the drawings for permit and the drawings come back from plan check with only very minor comments. Design Everest was able to respond to all the comments within One week, and I was able to re-submit the plans for the second round review. The plans were approved. We are building the project now and Design Everest is available to answer question and provide clarification to the contractor. Overall the whole experience with Design Everest was very enjoyable. I did not have any issues with them during the whole process. The whole team is friendly and professional. The project fee was very reasonable for the work that they provided. Overall I recommend Design Everest and I will use them again in my future projects.
We had a good overall experience with Design Everest on our residential remodeling project. They were quick to get us the original drawings, and exceptionally responsive about all necessary revisions that came up during the build. They were on the expensive side, especially regarding the cost to come out to review conditions on the property during construction and special inspections, so that is the reason for 4 stars.
I remodeled my new house. They helped me with a structural plan to submit to the city. Jessica and Shrey helped me with the pricing and the project management. Lokesh was the engineer who helped with the plan. They were all very professional and responsive which was important to me. I was in a hurry to submit the plan and they understood the emergency. The city had some comments and questions after receiving the plan. Lokesh always quickly helped me answer those. I highly appreciate. The permit has been finalized recently. I will definitely use their service again when needed. Highly recommend!
I used Design Everest for the structural engineering work for my project. Design Everest as a firm was okay (nothing to rave about) but I was impressed with Shrey who was the Project Manager for the project. Shrey made all the difference in communicating back and forth with the structural engineer through revisions and during construction phase as well. It would have been very difficult without Shrey's help.
I had significant horizontal cracks in my perimeter foundation from water getting into the rebar and expanding. Design Everest reviewed the situation, made recommendations about how much of the foundation to replaced based on the areas that could be observed and drew up building permit plans for the replacement. I used the plans to select and retain a contractor. Once the contractor removed shelving in the garage and planting at the foundation, we could see the cracks were more extensive and additional areas needed to be replaced. Also we decided to add a foundation drain along one side to help protect the foundation in the future. Both of these changes required revisions to the approved building permit plans which Design Everest turned around in half a day!! so there would be no delay in getting the work done. I could always reach someone to ask a question or ask for help. I recommend them highly.
