Avoid at all costs .
Incredibly disappointed in my experience with GBLS. Tried several times with calls, 3 walk-IN’s , 2 other intakes. Never got a call back. Went back again, in person. Filled out in- take and was ‘hurried’ out by the front desk admin and was given a paper with the “volunteer Lawyers Project.” Was also told they “no longer due consumer cases.” Despite the website clearly stating it does. I also took a consumer intake months ago. Today, I walked in again , hoping something would change. Nope, was sent to 2nd floor only to be handed the same paper with “Volunteer Lawyers Project.” Why are they getting state funding?? This is sad as I believe in such an organization. And until my recent experience with it, thought incredibly highly of Greator Boston Legal Services. I will actively try to dismantle their public funding. I will be sending a letter and email to my state rep demanding an audit of GBLS and to lose all public funding. I would like to add, I tried over a year on several occasions to work with GBLS. Each time, I was shocked at how rude, cold and outrageously useless. This city desperately needs a legal organization. And yet, despite being in liberal Boston- we have a legal aid services that is rude , ineffective and just plan empty building - with I’m sure a high lease- paid for by taxpayers. Please defund or dismantle and rebuild this once, great organization.
My experience with attorney Stephanie Herron was spectacular. I received timely and prompt assistance, and thanks to her, I was able to resolve my issue with my paid medical and family leave.

Five years ago I arrived at that place and they gave me the support I needed despite not having the best case… I highly recommend it and I am grateful!
