Impossible to get in contact with- not accessible at all

It is deeply disheartening to witness an organization that claims to serve the community engage in practices that harm families rather than prioritize the best interests of children. Greater Boston Legal Services, particularly the supervisor of the Domestic Violence Unit, their legal team, and the broader system, appear to be operating in a manner that undermines justice and fairness. There are serious concerns about the unethical coaching of individuals to obtain false restraining orders, which are then weaponized in family court to gain an advantage in cases. This behavior not only fails to support families in need but exacerbates conflicts, causing further harm to children who deserve better. As an organization tasked with serving the Boston community, Greater Boston Legal Services is failing in its mission. Their actions are contributing to systemic injustices, and it is imperative that these practices be addressed and corrected. Families and children deserve a system that fosters healing, fairness, and genuine support, not one that perpetuates harm and division.

Sad to know that this organization which receives State funds had DENIED me services just because I used to have a lawyer and NOW that I am not able to pay for lawyer they used that as an excuse to not provide services. I never do reviews because my time is more value than wasting time on writing something that could probably won't change anything, however this specific place deserves to have a terrible review and I hope the people who read this don't visit the place and the Suffolk District Court stopped sending customers here and suddenly they closed. If an organization that is Public receives funds from the people AKA Taxpayers then they SHOULD NOT be allowed to denied services, based on previous economic status of people.

Juan was really nice to talk to. Kind demeanor, gets straight to the point of how you need aid and assistance. He was informative. Ask for him to get the help you need to connect you to the right people.

My experience is like no other. A case that is been dragged on for over two years and finally also come to an end. The passion and public service of this team is remarkable to how they advocate and speak up to the voiceless. Extraordinary, that the team pickup my case and tried their best. Thank you again for your service and that you guys change people's lives for the better.

​A complete dead end. Do not waste your time here if you have an active legal issue or an upcoming deadline. ​I contacted them for help with a critical disability case after suspecting fraud at the local level. The intake staff sat there and took all of my sensitive case information, letting me explain the entire situation. Only after getting all my data did they inform me that they are "temporarily closed until June 12th." ​I explicitly told them I have a hard deadline and a critical appointment on June 9th. Telling someone you are closed until June 12th when they just told you their deadline is June 9th is completely unacceptable. They are soliciting services they have no intention of actually providing, acting as a gatekeeper just to turn people away when it matters most. ​If you are a resource directory, 211 line, or caseworker, please stop listing this organization as an active resource. They are a dead end and will leave vulnerable people stranded right before their court or appointment dates. Turn elsewhere if you actually need representation.

Idk why there's so many bad reviews. I have nothing but the greatest experience working with them especially Hannah has been extremely helpful to me and the understanding of my situation and she has kept me updated with everything and constantly makes sure that im well prepared for any circumstance that occurs for my issue at hand.

It's actually sad to say it but they have gone way down hill from only less than 10 years ago. They have a very unprofessional practice of turning people away who qualify for their help. They also have very rude speaking unprofessional people working there. Id strongly advise anyone who really needs legal help to turn to Harvards legal aid. From my experience they handle everything professionally and do not speak to you rudely and will hear you out on what you need to say. They definitely dont turn people away that qualify for their help from what ive been told and experienced. Unfortunately GBLS is a shell of its former self.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts in working with various firms I connected with Greater Boston Legal Services(GBLS). My experiences during the lengthy process was that my GBLS team exhibited the highest level of professionalism. They were a powerhouse dealing with giants within the industry. Not backing down, negotiating until the copay did their due diligence to expose their error. Through their efforts of GBLS we secured a finding in our favor!
