Really wonderful cafe & gathering spot. Counter-serve, warm atmosphere.
Friendly staff and great food. Perfect for a neighborhood rendezvous or a quiet coffee. Music some nights, too. Try the TLT (tofu lettuce and tomato)! Outside seating in the summer.
We live close by and dropped by for burger week. The burger was actually really good. The fries were okay. The Hostel Cafe looks like a nice spot for visitors.
I ordered a veggie burger here on my last day in Portland and now I'm kicking myself for not having tried it sooner! It was absolutely delicious. The food has such a homemade warmth to it. Wholesome ingredients, and you can tell people love it because there are always diners in the cafe. I love the laid back atmosphere of the space. Service is excellent too. Don't hesitate to check it out!
Amazing food and service. I went here for a Meet up event and there was lots of space for the event with great service.
I love this place. I live in the neighborhood and come here all the time. There are travelers coming and going. Tons of live music. Great food, beer and wine. If you live in Portland or are checking it out on vacation, I highly recommend you stop by this place. It’s a great time. 10/10.
The food here is great. They have live music more than once a week. Couch Park is basically across the street. Nice place to sit and sip a chai tea.

The Hostel Cafe isn’t just a place to rest, eat food and drink yummy coffee but It’s a place that actually helps the community. They helped me during a time that I really needed help and the owner is a wonderful woman. I feel like everybody should come and just support this place even if it’s just because they’re great people.Their location is near pretty much all the good attractions in this area. They have bands play behind the café in the back, have an outdoor area you can sit, they do events around the neighborhood and walks as well to tour the neighborhood.Come and visit! You’ll love it! Thank you for everything, I’m forever grateful.
Such a cute place. Perfect for a quick bite to eat. The salmon burger is soo good.
