First time back after they reopened, and their beer is just as good as I remembered! Only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is the lack of a single real plant-based option. More and more people are reducing / stopping their consumption of animal products! If y'all had seitan wings or a singular legitimately good vegan option that didn't require removing any of the ingredients, you wouldn't lose any money on it. Don't underestimate how much it would be appreciated!
Great dinner in a lively, but comfortable spot. It was very busy, but luckily I made a reservation on my walk over and we were seated shortly after arriving. I do recommend making a reservation on weekends because they were packed. The burger was perfectly cooked, very flavorful and the bun didn't fall apart which is always a plus. The regular fries were crispy and plentiful. The salad was very good as well. I would have liked a few more almonds or perhaps a bigger cut on them, as it was hard to taste them unless they were all grouped together, but the dressing was fantastic. The sweet potato fries were INCREDIBLE! They was also very expensive, $11.99, but they were so, SO good that it was money well spent. Very happy and would love to come back if I'm in the Philly area again.
My first encounter here was great back in June 2024, I went there for brunch on a weekend getaway and I ordered the Fried Chicken with Waffles. It was so good, especially the Whipped Orange Butter. Today, I returned to have the same wonderful experience that I had last year just to be grossly disappointed and I will not return. This time when I went I didn’t have to decide on what I wanted, I ordered the same thing I did the last time. Fried Chicken and Waffles and a Mimosa, the only thing that was good was the Mimosa. When the waiter brought my food to the table I noticed that the waffles were not waffles but biscuits put in a waffle iron, there was no whipped orange butter on the plate like advertised on the menu, it was just regular butter. I returned my order immediately and finished my mimosa and left. When I spoke to the front of the house manager and she said that the waffles were indeed waffles and that their food came from the same place for the past six years… I posted a picture from their Instagram page and the photo I took back in June of 2024, both pictures show an actual waffle. I also uploaded a picture from today of the biscuits they tried to pass off as a waffle. I will be filing a full complaint with corporate and I would suggest not wasting your time eating here. If they can lie to your face without blinking what else on the menu are they substituting.
Finally had the opportunity to stop by Iron Hill Brewery and enjoy their seasonal Pumpkin Ale. Didn’t disappoint!! The atmosphere was so alive and it was packed on a Saturday lunchtime. We didn’t have reservations but got a table for 5 fairly quickly. This place is huge, and tables are always available. Our table ordered a Thai Chicken Salad, Chicken Sandwich and Cheeseburger. The only disappointment was the Avocado Toast. It literally didn’t have much avocado on it. Had lots of red onions but no avocado.(see the picture) But the best part was sampling their craft beer selections. Everyone loves free samples.
It’s been a month since they reopened this location. They have the same great service and good beer. Our server Colin was amazing and friendly.
I love this place! I always stop in even if it’s for a cold beer. The food is excellent and the beers are top notch! I was served by Sal tonight and he is a true pro! He is extremely knowledgeable and super friendly! He won’t steer you wrong!! I had the salmon cakes and subbed the spinach for the vegetables. The salmon cakes were very moist and really tasty! I will definitely have them multiple times in the future!
Used to make it a point to come here everytime I came to the area for work. I was so excited to hear that they were reopening and couldn't wait to get back. The place had absolutely made a 180 degree turn for the worse since they have reopened under new management. I never would have expected this. The awesome staff were all gone and the ones that replaced them are terrible. The food is not even close in taste, even though the menu looks nearly the same. I am sure I am not alone when I say the vibrant atmosphere is gone from this place. To be nearly deserted on a Friday afternoon during happy hour says a lot. Used to be you hard to get in the door, much less find a seat , even at the bar. Time to look for a new place to go when in town.
My oldest daughter picked this as our lunch spot, she said it was a new addition to the downtown Philly scene. The in-house brewery section/area was super cool. The menu looked impressive enough. The place is pretty huge in the inside, it was crowded but not overly packed as there were ample open tables & high-tops. As far as service goes, it took a few minutes for our waitress to arrive to take our orders and when she arrived and before we started to shout out our selections, she stated she needed to tell us everything that they DID NOT have available as their truck did not arrive due to the observed holiday. It was a list of approximately 6 items and at least 2 of our options were on her short list, bummer. It took an even longer between appetizer arrival and main course arrival to the table, we were just about to inquire when she appeared with our orders. The calamari was my appetizer, it was tasty but not hot enough, it may have been waiting to be brought out. I had the salmon Caesar salad, and it was just okay. Salmon was cooked to perfection but had ZERO seasoning. I failed to ask about cheese type when ordering the salad as I prefer grated cheese in my salads as oppose to the powdered cheese crumbles. No one else complained about their dishes but they also weren't raving either. I feel like my experience could have been better so I'm willing to come back and try them another time. They definitely had tons of beers that they brew so maybe when I come back I'll try that experience.
Came to town for the world cup to stay w my cousin. This was the spot to come to! So happy we did. Cat was the best waiter! The food was great. Honestly, I came for the beer but loved the food! Took a few pics that probably don't do it service.
Food was really good. Voka Riggotoni was great. Manager asked how were the ribs. Showed him the bare bones. The house root beer was also good.
