I am very shocked by this restaurants actions today. I ordered a meal and shortly afterwards the business up charged me an additional $5. When I called to ask why the lady hung up the phone on me. I was a repeat customer, I will never shop here again. Watch out. What you are saying is a blatant lie. She hung up the phone #1. Secondly, you then cancelled my order thank god you did because it really isn’t worth $38 for 1 LA Galbi that you then turned around and removed all sides from so all you get is meat and rice for $38. Are you literally insane?
We ordered the pork soondubu and seafood panjeon (seafood pancake). Both were delicious and simply presented while dining inside the restaurant. I loved Koreana in University City and now am very happy to have it in Center City as well.
One special thing about Korean places is the banchan. They have none. I was already disappointed. I ordered Kimchi Jigge. I am giving 3 stars because it was not bad. I have had better. Plus for a corner shop with barely any Korean experience, paying 21$ for Jigge feels really expensive. The most expensive Jigge I have ever eaten!!!
I had the chicken wing combo (6 wings and kimchi fries) and the deok bokki. Everything was delicious. I cannot tolerate spicy dishes like I used to but, nothing was too spicy to handle. I ordered takeout but, the restaurant seems like a quaint place for dine-in. I will be returning to try other dishes.
Best Korean food I have had since landing in Philly this year! Chigae soup with kimchi was excellent, staff was friendly and helpful! I will be going back to sample more from this wonderful menu!
The food was ok but the side dishes were the best I've had in any Korean restaurant. My issue was with the service. The male order taker. I don't want to call him a server. Other than taking our order, he never came back. We had to ask the Spanish bus boys to bring us water, lettuce and more rice. It was 5:00 in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. I'm not going back.
Order went through quick and notifications came. Then I never got the order is on the way notification and my food never made it. I called several times and the staff was nice and contacted the driver but two full hours later i paid for a tip and delivery fee and food that never came.
Delicious food. Had all the right flavors. Service is very apathetic, first Korean restaurant I've been to that doesn't serve banchan. We asked for kimchi with our meal and we're given a laughable amount. Probably best for takeout.
Everything was great. Even held up and stayed warm on a 15 minute walk back to the hotel
Nice little Korean restaurant, and the kimbap here was very good!
