One of the best Korean restaurants I've tried. Outstanding lunch boxes with tasty fried dumplings and slices of rolls to go with the meat and rice. The marinades for the meats are outstanding -- the meat is full of flavor, tender, and delicious. This shop is small and a bit hard to spot from the front on 19th, but absolutely worth finding. The pork is wonderful, and the ribs are stellar. Far above average for the genre, and excellent lunchtime value-for-money.
This place is horrible and cheating customers. The prices increased by over double. I wish the owner would comment on this thread and provide a true photo of the menu from 2 year ago and explain how the hell the menu items doubles from $10 to $20 dollars. This is the biggest rip off. Inflation and cost of ingredients have not gone up that much, and neither has the quality of the service provided or even the amenities inside. And worse, the quantity of food is THE SAME and the quality is LOWER. Anybody who has previously had Koreana in univ city, avoid this place at all costs. U are better off spending money at a real high end restaurant where $20+ for an entrée makes sense. This is disgusting and a scam.
Been here a few times for lunch and the food is pretty decent. Their bento boxes are pretty average with the gimbap and the meats being the highlights. Their kimchi french fries were crispy but they could've added a bit more of kimchi instead of daps of a kimchi jelly(good just wanted more of it). Staff were friendly too.
Amazing food and great price as usual! I was a regular at the Koreana location in University City. When I heard about the new location at center city I had to check it out! The food was delicious as always. The new location is much more put together and more spacious. If you like Korean food on a budget this is a place to check out!
I ordered my food ahead of time and while there was a bit of a wait, the wait was well worth it as the woman working behind the counter was absolutely lovely and gave us water bottles for the troubles. I really appreciated the customer service and ambiance of the place, loved the experience and delicious food here!
Always love Koreana. Yummy. Thanks!
I just ordered here because I think it was the same with the Original Koreana restaurant in University area, but it totally not, Ordered the spicy noodles which is the big thick Korea noodles I usually have, but they give me the small thin Chinese lomein noodles, $17 + $2 because I choose Squid, only 10 tiny pieces of squid legs in total for a $20 meal, super super pricey. I always have this dish in the Original Koreana for only $10 then they just increased the price to $12 last month. Totally disappointed and I will never come back
Ordered two bulgogi burritos for pickup through uber eats (they were buy one, get one) and they tasted amazing!! Quick and kind service.
I came to know and love Koreana from its University City location. My first shot at Koreana in Rittenhouse (a take out order) showed consistency between locations. I managed to sneak in right before the noon rush. Actually, I got in around 1210, but a line formed nearly immediately after I ordered. They offer a great deal on a few lunch specials and also have lunch 'boxes' as well. I decided to go straight for the Beef Bulgogi lunch box. The lunch box is sort of a sampler, as it comes with rice, salad, a pair of dumplings, and a few slices (3) of kimbap. Mine also came with a small miso soup, however, I didn't see that included on the menu (not complaining). I could live without the salad, however, everything else was great. The beef bulgogi was delish and included just the right amount of seasoning. The dumplings had a good deal of meat. My only complaint on the kimbap was that there wasn't enough. And at about $12, the price point felt right. I didn't wait too long for my order to be boxed up and delivered. I can see the wait time being a bit long if you go at true peak time. While they do have the option to eat-in, seating is a bit limited. Net, really good Korean food. I'll be back and am happy to have another go-to lunch spot!
Been to the location twice. Food is very good. I always get the bulgogi lunch box/bento box. Perfect if you are trying for first time. You must order at the counter or via qr code, food will be brought to your table. Take out available also. Small quick eats.
