Ken's salad dressing? Really?? You have to do better. I love salads from Old Nelson always fresh. But this old nelson uses Ken's salad dressing. Which is a down right disgrace to humanity. I wanted a chicken caesar salad & all I got is a taste of vinegar. Bc that's what All of ken dressing taste like. VINEGAR. I will never get a salad from this Old Nelson EVER! I don't taste lettuce, egg, cheese, or croutons... All I taste is vinegar... Boo this dressing!!!
All of the food here is good. I do delivery or go get it myself. The service is awesome as well.
There is a middle aged Asian woman at the register most of the time. Watch out for her because she tends to purposely rip off her customers. She does not “scan” a lot of the products you purchase, but manually puts in the price. I became suspicious and caught her over charging me on several occasions. In other words, she is a thief.
They're pretty fast making Hoagies,Wraps and specially made sandwiches. Also Breakfast and plenty of salads and fruits or veggies to accompany your sandwich or wrap. Plus there's a large variety of chips, cakes,and soda's juices, milks and about everything you can name in the grocery line as well. Also has two lottery machines.
Giving one star seems to be too much. I was there today, the cashier, a young Asiatic lady with a horrible attitude acted in a very disrespectful manner. I have been a daily client until today. I am a business owner and know the importance on CUSTOMER SERVICE. Shameful.
The hoagies and sandwiches are top notch. I love the fact that they use Boars Head meats and cheeses. The cold bottled tea selection is one of the best in the downtown area.
Although I really like the selection of items here (especially the pre-prepared sandwiches, to-order sandwiches, and pre-prepared fruit pieces), the problem with Old Nelson is that everything is overpriced. It's very easy to drop in here thinking to just get sandwiches for two people and a few snacks, and end up spending in the $60-$70 range. Where all that money goes, I have no idea, but I think all the little markups add up.
They have the best sandwiches at a great price. My favorite is the plain soft hoagie rolls. The staff is just wonderful.
It's clean, the prepared food is tasty, service is friendly and fast. Prices are high for items, akin to a convenience store, and sometimes items aren't in stock, but all in all this is a great little store/deli.
Clean bright store with an adequate selection of average meats and breads. My focaccia bacon and cheese was average... The focaccia bread was happy but wasn't the experience I was looking for.
