Great for kids! So why the 2 stars? I felt that one of the employees was targeting my son and nephews — and no, they were not misbehaving. All they wanted to do was take a picture with their cousin who was in a kayak- NOT in the kayak but NEAR it. Then, when my nephews went to the simulators, that same employee was deliberately asking other people if they had been waiting before us, even though we had been patiently standing in line waiting our turn. I felt like she was targeting us the whole time. She was rude and if you don’t like kids…don’t work there!
Such a fun place! Clean areas, friendly staff and so much more to do for kids than we expected. Ages 2, 3, and 5-6 all had a blast!
If you're an outdoorsy person then you and your kids will love it. Very inexpensive!! $7 for age 13 to adults, $5 for kids 2 - 12 yrs, and free for kids under age of 2. Parking is $5 before 4pm. Sometimes your able to locate some free parking spots. My grandkids loved the Outdoor Adventure but everything is inside so, bring a lunch and have a good time!!! 😄😊
Absolutely LOVED this place!!! My kids wore themselves out. Learning and playing and having a blast. They loved the airplane and suspension bridge. I loved the animal pelts and skulls and poop! My kids got a kick out of that. My husband beat the high score on the shooting game. The tree was a huge hit too. I was not expecting this place to be so cool. I will def return with my family and you should go too.
Great place to stop if you have kids! This is a fun place to learn about nature and the outdoors while having fun. Very reasonably priced.
We love coming to Outdoor Adventure Center! We come once a week right when they open and on weekdays. I have a 2.5 year old and this place keeps her very occupied! Not only is she learning and exploring, but she is burning energy! There are usually class fields trips that visit daily. Sometimes its not too crazy, but other times it gets a little overwhelming. That's why we usually go first thing in the morning so by the time the school kids get there and ramped up we have already done a bunch of things! They have a cafeteria, so if you pack a lunch, you have a place to eat it. They sell a few snacks in the gift shop, but thats about it for food. We have the membership and it is totally worth it!! Definitely recommend this place!!

The Outdoor Adventure Center in Detroit is a true gem in the city. I encourage everyone to bring their children here. It is a wonderful place to gain a love and knowledge of nature. OAC has packed so much learning everywhere you look, and the staff are great! There are a lot of hands on activities that you can climb on and through. It's a beautiful place, full of wonder. My family and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously and I can't say enough good things about the place. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. Parking is easy and close.
I chaperoned my daughter’s school field trip to the Outdoor Adventure Center and it was such a great experience for both the kids and the adults. The space is interactive, engaging, and perfectly designed to let kids explore, learn, and have fun at the same time. The exhibits kept the students curious and excited, and everything was well organized for a school group. You can really see how much thought went into creating an environment where learning feels like an adventure. Highly recommend it for school trips and family visits.
Fun for ages 2-13. $5 parking. Clean bathrooms, lots of fun activities. Lots of friendly staff. A cafe to eat in. Clean area. Drive a Side by side, snow mobile, or bike race. Shooting game was fun. Heck out the inside of an airplane. Walk along a bridge across the building. Fly like an eagle. Lot of learning .
