Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe

This place use to be good but the experience I had yesterday was just disgusting. I had ordered take out from Pickleman’s in Westport and when I walked in to pick up my order I was so grossed out. For starters, when we walked in one of the employees was sitting on the counter (WHERE THEY SERVE CUSTOMERS FOOD). He was just sitting on his phone and digging in his eye for boogers. I was absolutely disgusting and immediately lost my appetite. He then proceeded to be annoyed he had to put his phone down and then proceeded to touch and bag our food without washing his hands. 2. I checked to see if they had the order right and of course they didn’t. They forgot an entire sandwich so we had to stay and wait for them to prepare it. Once again the cashier just texting away sitting on the food counter. 3. We finally left and I got the courage to eat the food I paid for and noticed they forgot several ingredients of my sandwhich so had to turn around and go back to get the right sandwhich. When we called to let them know the lady argued about how she “personally made the sandwhich so she knows the extras were on there”. Which was not truly the case. 4. When we went back to had to remind the employees to wash their hands before touching the food. Moral of the story is just stay away. I hope management will talk to their employees. This was the crew that was there on the evening of 12/27/22

The food is amazingly good! Everything we had was excellent. The facility is very nice and looks new. Clean. The only bad thing was the service. We felt like we were bothering the employees by ordering. There were at least 5 employees working and we were the only ones in the restaurant. They didnt look like they were doing much work and still an item I order got forgotten. When we were rung up I reminded them that I was waiting on it. They said no problem, they would bring it out to our table when it was done. We sat waiting to eat and still they did not bring it. My husband got impatient and went to check on it. Guess what, it was laying done, forgotten about, on the counter. We will definitely be back because the food was so good. I just hope someone else is working.

I ate there for the first time yesterday and my experience and food was underwhelming to say the least. There was nothing special about my sandwich or salad. I felt like the salad was very basic and something I could have easily made at home. Service was very slow. There were three people in line in front of me. From when I ordered until I sat down took 20+ minutes.

Store is SO clean and it seems to be managed very well. They have their own delivery drivers so you don't actually have to go to the store itself and no third party driver. I might just become a regular! Food is fresh and put together great

Me and my stepmom had eaten at this place while we were by Westport. We each both had the mac and cheese that mine was BBQ pulled pork and she got buffalo chicken that the barbecue pulled pork was okay that I even really like the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the portion was not really that big and it seems like it might be better off to have their sandwiches there and mostly a place you can stop by if you want like a sub sandwich pizza or mac and cheese over in that area.

The food quality was good and flavor was as well. Nothing amazing. The kids pizza was flavorless and the staffing was poor. There was only one person working and it took about 15 minutes to make 6 people's food with a couple of screw ups. I'd give them a second chance.

Stopped by to pick up our favorite sandwiches to end the night and the male worker (only worker this night that we saw - New Year’s Eve night) who made our sandwiches was constantly wiping his mouth with his hands while making our sandwiches. He was acting a bit bizarre and was singing to us. He also did not seem to be coherent. Created a weird environment for us to be able to say anything because no other workers were present.

They have the tomato soup ever! I love the turkey bacon sandwich and I also love the pizza. The chocolate chip cookies are really good too! No matter what you get you can't go wrong. They have the best meatball sandwich I've ever had also.

i placed an online order and my fiancé went in to grab our food and nobody was in line. the toothless man behind the counter said “i just got done w your sandwich and i’m working on the salad” and then 5 people came in and he stopped making our order and made every single persons order while his sandwich sat wrapped up getting soggy. then made the salad. i got out of the car because it was taking forever and as i do hes walking out and he’s explains this to me. i proceed to go in and very calmly ask the man “hey did you just make this order” and he starts YELLING at me. and i ask him “sir why are you yelling at me” he said “don’t come in here trying to accuse me of not working when i’m the only one here” and i said “sir i’m just curious why you stopped making our order to help multiple other people” while he is screaming at me that the people that walked in take priority over the to go order i placed 35 minutes prior to them walking in as well as the order he was in the middle of making. so i just said “cool thanks” and walked out. sandwich was soggy and customer service clearly isn’t great. really sad, used to love coming to this location but i won’t be back after this experience.

Food is ALWAYS amazing!!! Sometimes there's some rude people working but mostly super great polite people :) often times the music is SO loud you can't hear the person you're talking to which sucks, understandable if there's other people in the lobby but empty everytime I go in. 10/10 would recommend though and I go here often!
