After working for the same company for over 10 years, I was struggling to transition to a new role after the closure of our Arizona facilities. Jason and Mandie at Paul Mitchell were extremely helpful, particularly with updating and writing a powerful resume. They helped me take a step back and go from looking at my performance achievements as just "another day at the office" and instead look at how these items appear to an outside entity. This process has not only made me rethink how we approach the job hunt, but also how we go about conducting performance reviews for ourselves & our direct reports.

2020 was a rough year for many, especially those who were unfortunate to lose employment. There's something to be said for having structure, best practices and a guiding hand when searching for new roles, especially with an established career. After finalizing my agreement with PMTMG, I was introduced to Pam H. She was absolutely spectacular in her approach and consideration. Her experience gave me confidence and the guidance she shared not only helped me feel as though progress was being made, but many of the critical questions that she asked me upfront helped me understand what I was seeking in my next career step (vs. just jumping to whatever was available). I'm thankful for my experience with Pam and plan to keep in touch well after the program finished.

My career advisor, Bob, was very friendly, professional, and did an excellent job guiding me through the process. I especially found the mock interview sessions most helpful. Knowing I had limited interview experience, Bob did a thorough job helping me understand what questions to anticipate and how best to respond. While I ended up finding an opportunity through my personal network as opposed to PMG’s executive search database, I still feel that my time with PMG was well spent.

I worked with Paul Mitchell Talent Group and my coach Pam Heyward to help me find a new role. Using their process to refine my online presence, update my resume, and practice for interviews; I’m happy to say that I was successful to find a great new job that I love. Pam helped me prepare for interviewing which gave me confidence in myself to be comfortable and present myself as the strong candidate she knew I was. I would recommend the Paul Mitchell Group to any mid to upper management individuals seeking a change. I found the team to be professions, realistic in setting expectations and extremely helpful. Mandie Benavidez is the best. She helped me through the process of writing my resume, updating my LinkedIn profile and prepare for upcoming interviews. Mandie was always available to take my call or to meet in person. She was positive, encouraging, focused and a joy to work with.

The team at PMG has been easy to work with. They have made me feel comfortable in discussing any issues or challenges I may have in finding my next opportunity. I was provided guidance on my career planning. They reviewed my resume and helped to revise my LinkedIn. When the team member I was working had to step away, they set me up with a replacement. Unfortunately, I received only one job lead from the PMG group and I had to secure the rest myself. The one they provided ended up stating they wanted someone local and never reached out for an interview. This company is here to coach you on how to find your next role, but as they continually reminded me, they cannot make the employers they work with post the positions you are interested in. Over a year since I began working with the company and I remain in the same role I was in when I began working with PMG. If you are looking for coaching on how to transition, this is not a bad organization. I did not see any monetary return on my investment.

Higher praise could not be given to the team at PMG. We all know career change can be stressful and challenging. I was relieved when the team began working with me to ease the search for my next adventure. From the start, everyone asked the right questions, was informative, highly organized and a wealth of knowledge. Pam, who I worked closely with, did an outstanding job of understanding my wants/needs and developing a marketing plan to get me in front of employers and to find my next opportunity. I highly recommend using PMG for your career search. The reality is, you won’t find all the opportunities that are out there without their assistance.

Thank you PMG for helping me successfully transition my career. Educating me on Applicant Tracking Systems (their purpose, how they work, and how to work with them) coupled with follow up techniques (and their importance) I found to be very beneficial. Also, partnering with my advisor (from orientation up through the negotiation process) helped me maintain objectivity through this very unfamiliar phase of a career transition.
