Get the Brown Sugar Shak’n with a couple pumps of caramel!!!! I also tried mango vanilla ice cream cake which was pretty solid. The ambiance was really nice, modern, clean, and cozy with a calm vibe that makes you want to sit and stay for a bit. It honestly feels like exactly what Philly needed. Waqas, the owner, was super welcoming and genuinely appreciative of everyone coming in. He shared a bit about his background and the story behind opening Shibam, and it was just good, genuine conversation.
Amazing service and good drinks and desserts!! One of the owners was super nice. It was our first time and definitely won’t be our last! Thank you
The cafe has such a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, from the coffee to the desserts. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Definitely one of the best spots to chill, work, or catch up with friends. Highly recommend!
I’m so shocked by these reviews. Me and my family had a wonderful experience and the barista Aya was extremely pleasant to us and explained certain drinks we weren’t familiar with. Ppl are complaining that it takes long but this is real yemeni coffee, not Starbucks or dunkin. Good things take time. I appreciated my time here, and the coffee was good and the turkey sandwich was amazing. 10/10 would go back and it’s extremely clean!!! Staff are so nice.
The food here was so good! Yes, some people may say it’s a bit pricey, but for the aesthetic, atmosphere, and quality of the food and drinks, it’s absolutely worth it. You’re really paying for the experience too. This spot feels so different from anything else in the surrounding area. My sister and I had such a fun time sitting here that we completely lost track of time just chatting away. They offer savory lunch options along with cute and fun desserts. My favorite drink was definitely the Spanish latte! They also have card and board games to enjoy with friends and family. This place also isn’t too far from me, so I’ll definitely be coming back :)
My boyfriend and I went in over the weekend and we must've caught them before they opened, but they still let us come in and order. The interior design is absolutely stunning- clean, modern, tasteful, and incredibly spacious! For drinks we had the latte (just a generic latte) and the meditation tea (I think thats what it was called- very soothing). The pastries are a bit on the pricier side at $9.50 a piece. All the ones we tried were light and not too sweet- just the way we like it! Our favorite was the strawberry bunny, silky mousse with a nice strawberry jam in the middle. The rose was a close second. The vanilla oreo popsicle we thought was a cake pop, but was actually another mousse desssert. The chocolate berry unfortunately was not great- the mousse was separated and the texture off putting. The tirasmisu was fine, but definitely could've soaked the lady fingers for longer in espresso. Overall we enjoyed our time and our pastries!
Came in on their opening day! The vibe was so good and all the food & drink provided is worth it. Highly recommend this place, very nice people. Also, you can sit in and do work here like other coffee shop. Had no problems, 10/10
Relaxed vibe Beautiful decor Latte was flavorful Cinnamon crossaint 10/10 - I would have asked for no sugar in the latte so it's not too too sweet overall but nonetheless delicious mango dessert was pretty yummy but it's Cold dessert so if you have sensitive teeth ,Be cautious & I wanted to try something different but wasn't a fan of mousse texture Danish was pretty decent as well 😋😋
This is my first time here. I ordered a Shibam Latte and the included signature Yemeni spices made it amazing. It's all the yumminess of the spice profile that is usually only available at chain coffee shops during the fall season, but way WAY better. They have milk alternatives for an additional charge for those who prefer oat or soy milk. I also had a delicious chocolate peanut butter cookie with just the right amount of sweetness. And the texture of the San Sebastian cheesecake was quite memorable too. Many of the other coffee shops around Philly closed early but this one is open late. There was a fun energy to the place and eclectic clientele: some playing board games, some studying, others just chatting with friends or family. The owner Jimmy was super personable and his brother's playlist gave the whole experience a nice vibe. But just note that because the place is so welcoming, the line was long. Be prepared to wait a while and you may have to wait for a table too.
“Visited with my husband and our babies and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was beautiful and very welcoming. We tried the pistachio latte, cookie butter latte, Dubai cheesecake, and banana pudding — everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were rich and flavorful, and the desserts were amazing. Such a lovely spot to relax and enjoy good coffee and desserts. Would definitely come back again.”
