While visiting KC I gotta a chance to taste what the hype was about at Smaxx!!! We ordered lunch. The Diva Cheesesteak combines two of my favorites: chicken and beef bacon. Yes beef bacon!!!! The meat was moist and the bacon just right add cheese on a hoagie role and this Diva was pleased. And I did get to taste the hot wings too 🤫. Crispy chicken tossed in the sauce. Delicious. The service was great, the food was served hot and ready. Definitely a spot I will be visiting again.
I love the local joints and this is a great one. Not an insult but this hole in the wall serves great food, Tuesday chicken wings special for $1 minimum 6 please is great and full of flavor. My wife had a tequila sunrise daiquiri and that was soooo good, in fact they have 10 different machines going so daiquiri suicide heaven. The great location for this place it's not too far from the Negro League Baseball Museum and Jazz Museum.

The most amazing flavor of 'The LG' has me wanting to try more on the menu. I placed the order via door dash and until I ate the Philly sandwich that has shrimp, chicken(perfect texture for a hoagie sandwich) perfectly seasoned with cheese. I plan to frequent this restaurant more in the near future. Hidden gem to those seeking an inexpensive good eat.

If I could give this 6/5 Stars, I would! Chili Cheese Tots we're out of this world, onion rings on another level. As for my Missed Breakfast Burger, that bacon ain't playin'!
I've been seeing their post on Facebook for Wing Wednesday, 10 wings and fries for $10, and I mean it be looking goodbut what they fail to tell you is that if you want flavor added to your chicken such as honey barbecue or garlic parmesan that's extra which definitely should be disclosed in that advertisement for the chicken but other than that service was nice they wasn't offering any type of receipts though and cashier was very pleasant food came out looking just like the pictures on their page which is a good thing and it was delicious

Pulled up to 18th & Vine, ready to soak in some jazz at The Blue Room, but first—we had to feed the vibe. Stumbled into Smaxx, tucked next to a daiquiri lounge, and let me tell you… it hit. Simple order: cheeseburger and fries. But simple doesn’t mean basic—this was soul on a plate. We watched the chef glide around the kitchen like it was a dance floor—smooth, focused, no wasted moves. Salt Bae wishes he had this man's rhythm and flavor game. Every step was seasoned like it mattered—because it did. The food? Fire. The energy? Real. The perfect way to kick off a night steeped in jazz, culture, and community. If you're in KC and want to support a Black-owned gem that brings the heat with heart, this is it. Smaxx set the tone. The jazz just kept it going.
Service was great! They were very nice and helpful, but sadly the food was extra salty.
