Went there for lunch and it reminded me of a backyard BBQ. Serving size is healthy if you know what I mean. The taste of the food was great. Will be coming back
BABEEEEEEE GO TOWARDS THE DELICIOUS SMELL OF FRYING CHICKEN BECAUSE BIRD IS THE WORD! Them wangs right here are from home! Dem tater tots are grown ups! They even have adult frozen kool-aid next door! Fat girl fabulous!!! Wing Wednesday is a special trEAT! I am from Texas and this was my favoritest KC meal.
What a great local spot to stop for some lunch after taking in all the history of the Jazz Museum. We had the burger, chili cheese fries and the cheese steak and everything was great. The ladies running the joint were nice and they cooked everything on the spot. I'll have to come back to try the wings and chicken. Enjoy y'all!
DO NOT ORDER THROUGH THEIR SITE!!!! Well, me and my fiance ordered an almost $60 order. 12 piece wings with fries and a poboy meal... THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. We received a confirmation number and we're told, THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE, our order will be done between 5:15-5:30 pm. We get there, they have our order away to a doordash delivery guy and lied and said that our order was through doordash, when WE HAVE SCREENSHOTS SHOWING WE ORDERED THROUGH THEIR SITE! They refused to give us a refund and refused to re-cook our order. THEY WILL NEVER GET OR BUSINESS AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
We were in from Virginia and decided to go by Smaxx after going to the Negro Baseball Museum. The food, atmosphere, and interactions with the managers and customers were awesome. We definitely loved the Chicken Chop Sub, talking with Uncle Mike, and sharing my brisket from Chucky's Barbecue.
The ONLY good thing I have to say about this place is that the burgers aren't wimpy. But WE WON'T BE RETURNING because the customer service was bad. My family had no idea that they seve and charge for everything separately, so our 3 cheeseburgers and fries came out to $50 and didn't include any drinks. The female at the counter had a nasty attitude and poor customer service. Along with the ability to properly communicate. But that's the last time we'll ever go there to support a black owned business. That's not a good reason and it only gives more reason to doubt. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Very much a family feel when you walk in. I felt like I was right back in a childhood neighborhood just from talking to the owner and the cook. Both were very polite! There was a long wait because a lot of people placed orders and they were apologetic about my wait but I didn’t mind because of how much they made me feel like I was just sitting at a family members house lol. The food of course is really good! We have been back several times since our first visit and the food is always delicious!
Best wings in KC! Pulled off the bone every time! Fried mushrooms were great too. Shawn was our cook & he nailed it!

I was in Kansas for a work trip and on the last day of the trip I had an Uber driver Uncle Mike taking me to the KC airport. I had about 4hrs before my flight left and he told us about this spot!!! I have to say that this place was by fair one of the best places I went to on my trip. The burger was great(it was actually a real burger)! The 6 piece honey hot bbq was fire!! I thought we had the best honey hot in FL but not even close. Whoever created this sauce I personally thank you. The manager was great. She okay good music, R&B vibes!!! She let us bring our luggage in and hang out! She kept checking on us to make sure we were comfortable!!! Let’s not forget about the Velvet Frozen Daiquiris next door!!!!! They have multiple options with different liquors. I got both my drinks topped off with Hennessy & both drinks were great!!! I would love to come back at night & would def recommend!!!!!
