The Belfry, Gerard's Pool Hall, Ground Control, Wolf Den - part of the Belfry Collective

A little more on the pricey side of things but well worth it. Food was absolutely delicious. And really had an amazing experience. Well I could be out of the loop on price we rarely eat out.

Absolutely incredible food. And the service was perfect. I think the only reason I didn’t give the atmosphere five stars is because the food belongs in a fancy restaurant with white linen tablecloths in my opinion. I’ve been talking about my meal ever since I left. It was unique and delicious. April took care of us and could not have been sweeter.

We tried a few of the cocktails, made by Justin, and all were amazing! We also tried the homemade chips, burrata with grilled peaches and the vegan paella and everything was so delicious! Highly recommend this place! Great spot to try before a show, short walk to Kaufman.Laid back, fun atmosphere!

Hidden, sneaky food and cocktail gem … @thebelfrylounge I’m not sure why we have not been, we walk by it all the time but finally went and it was great. The theme for me is randomly perfect. The drink menu is huge and has a variety of options. They don’t seem to go together but again randomly perfect. We all got something we wanted and they were all good. The night we went a lot were Taylor Swift inspired so the names will be different. Food ranges from sushi grade tuna to curry style poutine fries. And why not!!! We got tacos, pasta, and a beirock all in one place and all really good. I got the beirock. It was excellent. The cabbage was cooked down just enough that it was like a sauce for the ground beef and the dough was yeasty and at the correct ratio to the filling. Portions are right in the smaller range, along with the prices. So if you need two things the amount of food and price will be good. This is going to be come a staple in our rotation of places to eat and drink because we can all get what we want in the same place.

We stumbled upon this place while in town for the World Cup. Excellent service, cocktails and food. And we were even able to watch a game while we were there. We liked it so much we came back again because the menu had so many interesting dishes we wanted to try. I highly recommend!

Super loved the aesthetic and vibe. The place has more pool tables than you'd expect and they're all super retro, well maintained and fun to play on. The food is wicked good. I always get the burger and my old lady loves the fried chicken and biscuits. The Belfry will likely become a part of our rotation.

Bartender was waiting tables and was alone and had an attitude until a more pleasant person came in and finished his service. The chicken wings were great. The pretzel was fine. Kimchi tacos were good. The spring vegetable pasta was so flavorless and bland. Basically cooked pasta and shrimp with fresh vegetables without any apparent white wine or garlic. It’s like they forgot to saute with the sauce. It also had no salt and there was none on the table. My lavender haze cocktail was delicious. Next time, I’d probably just get an app and a drink. Cool space and art though.

Celina and her crew took great care of us and now the Belfry is going to be a regular stop-off whenever we are in KC. ANo question. We went to the Belfry not expecting much. We made a res and accidentally came about 30 mins late (sorry!), but instead of turning us away, or being sore at us, they shuffled us downstairs to the Ground Control bar where they absolutely killed. The drinks were tip top incredible most likely cause most of their liqueurs were homemade. The bartender was amazing. Super nice and full of info we had not known the day before. Don't believe these 1 star reviews, bullshit. Ended up ordering too much food, which was fine with us because everything was so damn good.

My writers group has been meeting in the Wolf Den downstairs twice a month. Our group size varies week to week. We are always welcomed and treated so well- regardless of the size. Plus the space is just perfect!

Upon a quick search for a James Beard Award Winning Chef in Kansas City I stumbled upon The Belfry. And boy am I glad I did!! The restaurant isn’t what one would expect. It has a pool hall and a speakeasy too. Also, the restaurant is the bar. But don’t let looks or vibes deceive you. The food was top notch and so were the cocktails. The service made it even better too. For appetizers we ordered the ahi tuna poke cups and the rock shrimp arancini with a lemon aioli. Both were a great bite and made us more excited about what was to come. The arancini was delicious with the aioli. My favorite bite was the poke cups though. The balance of flavors was impeccable. They are a must. After two different waiters recommended the burger and the scallops we knew exactly what to order. Our party of three had: The burger. I don’t know what made it the best burger ever. But it was. Juicy. We added onion and bacon to it. The onion was the most cooked down caramelized onion we had ever had like a paste and it couldn’t get better. It really was just so so so good. It came with fries and homemade ketchup. The seared scallops. The waiters told us the chef was known for her scallops and now we know why. The scallops came on a bed of couscous, some pieces of asparagus, and these crispy bits of radishes. Had a lot of salty flavor. The flatbread of the day: Margarita. Cherry tomatoes, chicken, basil, and balsamic glaze. It was more than a flatbread. It was a piece of fluffy delight. So flavorful. I don’t know how they made it standout and be above average but they did. I was very impressed. Desserts. How can you not wrap up a meal with a tasty sweet…. Or two. We had to try their staple bread pudding. Yall it is cheddar cheese bread pudding with bourbon Carmel. And you really fast all the flavor profiles in VERY bite. It is a must try. Their special of the night was carrot cake and it hit the spot as well. Super tasty. But for something unique I would make sure to go with the bread pudding. Ok now for the exciting part- drinks. Cocktails. Hand crafted and specially curated drinks. I learned the employees are inspired by classic drinks but make their own. The top cocktail of the night was the Bee’s Knees and it was just that. Delicusoi and dangerous because we wanted an unlimited amount of them. The other show stopper was the “Margarita”. It is in quotes because it isn’t your typical margarita. They make it without the juice I think. Anyways, I think their cocktail menu rotates but we hope you make it there in time to try these! We also went to play pool and it was a blast. Overall, you couldn’t ask for a better night out. It gets a 5 out of 5 because I would love to go back and try everything on the menu. I am confident no matter what you order you will relish in the enjoyment of eating it.
