Can't overstate how much I recommend this gem. Came for the whiskey and stayed for the good people, good vibes, staff making me feel like a local. The whiskey was no joke though. They have several single barrels that are exclusive to The Belfry, and the two I tasted were fantastic. Every single element of their burger and fries is made in house, and they have reached perfection. Fresh, interesting flavors that harmonize flawlessly. The fries were the best I've had, crispy with pops of coarse salt. Worth the stop every time you're in town.
Awesome experience when I was there. The bourbon and beer selection was great. My macaroni and cheese was delicious. I can't wait to go back to KC to try some other things in the menu.
Excellent bar-restaurant with some unexpected menu items, like Seafood Paella, an appetizer of Salmon Deviled Eggs, and a Chocolate Ganache dessert. Over 20 beers on tap daily. The menu includes many vegetarian and vegan selections, along with a variety of gluten-free options.
The best old fashioned in KC! Huge bourbon list with mostly fair prices for what they are. Pappy at $75/oz was a little steep for me, but the rest was pretty fair.
We arrived around 430 ish on a Friday hoping for good drinks and happy hour food. Most of the menu items were not available for reasons unknown. The service was slow, we had to ask for napkins, utensils, more water, another drink. I had the grand fashioned which actually tasted very good except for the cloudy glass it was served in. It was my first time visiting so I’m not really sure what I expected but it definitely wasn’t my cup of tea.
The staff was absolutely amazing! Our waiter was very knowledgeable, the waitress in training was excellent and helped us with as much as she could and the main bartender was absolutely delightful. Very very knowledgeable with bourbon which is why we went there. 10/10 would go back. Such a great experience overall. And the food was even great!
What a wonderful atmosphere! They also have a fantastic beverage and food menu. I think their cauliflower dish is probably the best way I've ever had cauliflower, ever. Also worth mentioning their menu clearly labels the vegetarian and vegan-friendly items. Will definitely be going back soon.
Amazing cocktails and large selection of whiskeys/bourbons at Belfry, fun atmosphere at Gerard’s, and one of our favorite dinners we have had in KC at Ground Control.
Cool place, and the food and drinks were good, but man, the service wasn't the best. Small place, and somehow understaffed. We didn't have anywhere to go, so waiting was manageable, but 25 minutes from sitting down to getting our first drink... That's a long time without anyone checking on us. People were friendly once they were able to wait on us, but having the wait staff bus the tables, work the pool hall and the bar and disappear for 15 minutes at a time (maybe washing dishes?) means they could use some help.
I really like this place. It's got a relaxed Vibe there's always good music playing, and not too loud. The menus got a wide range of items with lots of different flavors. It's also on the lower end of the price scale. Drinks and service are both good it's also a great location if you plan on going other places before or after dinner downtown
