We absolutely love it here! The clothes are always clean, very well organized, staff are always restocking! Everyone here is so friendly and helpful and truly “go out of their way for you!”. My son, who has Autism, also visits here frequently with various support individuals (who truly are amazing with him). He visits, to practice interacting with the community, boundary control in isles, money exchange skills etc. Thrift City staff are absolutely amazing with him!!!! They actually have gotten to know him, they are patient with him, they truly care about him. I would recommend coming to anyone to please come and visit. You really would be pleased!
There's a camera that points directly into the fitting rooms. You can see it in the mirror which is extremely uncomfortable. When I asked the cashier if the cameras work, she laughed and said they all work. When I told her about the one facing the mirrors in the fitting rooms, she immediately caught an attitude & replied that it can't see inside. But with common sense, if you can see the camera, it can obviously see you.
One of my favorite thrift stores if not my favorite! They always have such a great selection, it's clean and organized, the prices are reasonable and you can tell they take great care to vet their items as carefully as possible so the items are in good condition and relevant. It reminds me of Plato's Closet a bit with the clothing selection, but way bigger and an actual thrift store with household goods, etc. I honestly never noticed the camera and the fitting rooms but if I had and it bothered me, I just wouldn't use them. The store stated that they are not focused on the fitting rooms and they've been inspected by SAPD who stated they are safe. So I highly recommend this thrift store, much better selection than Goodwill at similar prices but better sales!
A lot of inventory and very well organized for the amount of items they have. Big store and staff was great pricing is fair and a lot to chose from. From shoes to toys and housewares.
Thrift City delivered the full thrifting experience: hope, confusion, polyester, and at least one item that made me whisper, “Who wore this to court?” The clothing selection was huge and blessedly organized by both size and color, which spared me from digging through a fabric avalanche like a raccoon behind a Dollar General. Unfortunately, this particular week’s inventory leaned heavily toward “graveyard of fast fashion.” I found several interesting pieces that immediately broke my heart with mystery stains that pushed them clean over into “absolutely not.” But honestly, that’s just thrifting. Some days you strike gold, some days you find a haunted SHEIN cardigan and move on with your life as quickly as possible. Big points for plenty of fitting rooms. I also really appreciated the ethnic clothing section. There were some genuinely beautiful and interesting pieces in that section. The housewares section looked like it had recently survived a minor weather event and could use a little more organization, but I still had fun poking around. And in the end, my kiddo found a great winter coat, which means the trip officially counts as a win in the sacred bookkeeping of thrift store math.
Security camera pointed towards changing room. When asked about it, they refuse to give any information except “it’s so you don’t forget anything,” and “its for your safety,” and say to call corporate if its bothering you. Another employee said “I’m not going to get involved” and claimed it was fake. None of this is comforting. In no way should a camera (even if it is fake) look like it’s pointed towards the fitting room. After my mother (who asked the questions) left the store, I overheard employees in a group gossiping about the questions we asked as if it was unreasonable to be concerned. It is inappropriate to gossip about customers, especially when other customers are walking all around you. Lots of items are damaged beyond wear and prices are too high for almost everything.
Great selection, reasonable prices, and access to fitting rooms. Texas Thrift doesn't find fitting rooms necessary and has no return or exchange policy. Thrift City is much better IMO.
Great selection of clothing. Clothes are very organized. But shoes and home supplies are limited. It seems every time I visit, there is always a long wait for waiting rooms and you have to have someone unlock the door. Bathroom needs more attention as there was a very strong odor coming from that direction.
BUYER BEWARE. I’ve shopped at this store multiple times, mostly looking for coach bags to restore since that’s my business and they usually have a good selection. I will say, however that they tend to have knock offs (pretty well made but still fake) with HIGH price tags. I recently seen a Christian Dior bag here with no internal serial numbers priced for 500 dollars. I would advise anyone with an untrained eye to do some research before they spend a bunch of money on a purse from here. Otherwise they have good variety.
I've said this many times before. The cameras watch you in the fitting rooms. You can see them clear as day on the ceiling, if you can see the camera, it can see you. This location has been recording people in the fitting rooms for YEARS. Next time you go, look at the ceiling. You can see it in the mirror and with your own eyes. Come to this location at your own risk.
