I own a business in the area and stop here once a week for several years. It has become mediocre in every way. You charge a fortune and here's what I got tonight at 5:30: Full parking lot, and yet you are selling spots to a car rental company. The shelves are barren. The hot bar has like two picked over items. It's dinner time, where is the food? Seafood department is a joke. To add insult, you have TWO open checkers and a massive line. 20 minutes to check out. There is no help in the store on a Monday night? I can buy ten times the food at TJ's, but prefer an elevated product and service. Your suburban stores are much better, but I do not live in San Mateo. I just can no longer spend $100.00 for one bag of ordinary food and crap service.
Lately I’ve noticed that the entire produce section is looking really sad. Availability of vegetables is limited and many items are in poor shape. Unfortunately, I count on this market to have great produce so at this point, I’m contemplating going somewhere else.

Great choice, prices are reasonable and a lot a veggie options. Special mention to the 2 larges fridges with alternative meats!

Old man that works behind the deli counter is extremely rude and will talk down to you as a paying customer in a condescending tone e and treat you as though you are incompetent. Hours listed for deli counter options are blatant lies that are not followed by the employees here. Disgusting store that’s never stocked well either. Shop anywhere else in the city.

Full of Amazon shoppers and drivers taking your cart away from you. Amazon shoppers not hesitating to push your carts away so they can block your way while you’re shopping. Also, what’s up with the 90-minute limit in the handicapped parking? If a disabled person has a lot of things to buy and decide to stay for a meal, that would take more than 90 minutes! Smh
The parking and bike racks are both convenient. Prices aren't too bad compared to recent Safeway prices. Produce and meats are top notch.
One of the best Whole Foods in the city. Centrally located, great logistics management inside and out. It's clean, and doesn't feel stuffed. The check out lines are quick and well managed.
