Picked up a to-go order today. I got the curry with pork katsu and a few sides. The curry was fresh and delicious, it’s one of my favorite comfort foods. When I got home I realized one of the sides I ordered had been swapped out for another accidentally. When I reached out they more than made the situation right. I really approached the food and service here!

Hawaiian grinds in Portland! The Shoyu Chicken was fabulous and the kimchi was delicious too. Shave ice was authentic SHAVE ice - snow cap and all!
I paid $28. I received a very small portion of teriyaki chicken, as well as a very crunchy and tiny overcooked Mochiko chicken absolutely horrible experience. But they made sure to give me two big scoops of bland, macaroni salad. The seating arrangements make families very close to each other. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again.
This place makes great food. Love the ambiance. In their category they have better food, better ambiance and better service than I usually experience. So they deserve five stars. Don't hesitate to enjoy.
The food was absolutely delicious here and the portion sizes are large so definitely is at least two meals worth of food. It's a casual dine-in or take out spot. I got the shoyu chicken plate and it came with a hefty side of veggies, rice, and very flavorful chicken. Partner got a mai tai and he thought it was ok. He loved the food he ordered though! Friends of ours got the curry and they absolutely loved it.
I come here pretty often and normally they’re pretty decent. They’ve raised their prices a bit, but I live close so I’m here a few times a month. Today though, I ordered a loco moco and they literally gave me the most burned patty I’ve ever had in my life. I have to say that it was straight up inedible, I tried to cover it up with gravy and rice but it crumbled so bad and literally tasted like char. Incredibly disappointing, I truly can’t believe how someone thought it was ok to serve a patty burned that badly.
Customer service was decent, and the cashier was friendly. However, the food was disappointing. If you're searching for authentic Hawaiian cuisine, this isn’t the place. The katsu chicken was thin and dry, the shoyu chicken very dry and tough to chew, the ahi tuna poke salad barely had any tuna sitting on a bed of essentially a house salad, and the mac salad was average at best. For over $60 for four, the quality reminded me of something from Panda Express. It was edible, but nothing worth returning for. The white rice was the best part of the meal. I hope it was just an off day. ✌🏽
Always get the Korean chicken with Mac salad and musubi! Been a bunch of times and it's consistently amazing! The staff are all so friendly and helpful. If you eat anywhere in Portland I suggest you start here!
This was the best chicken cutlet and best mac salad I have ever had! Highly recommend!
