The mixologist that work here are very good at their job. Tell them a base liquor you like. For me it was bourbon. Then an adjective or two. For me it was spicy with a touch of sweet. They will then make you a drink unique to any you have had before. So far on my visits they have all been great. It is a small hidden bar so during peak times it can be tough to get a seat. Still whenever I visit Seattle I make an effort to stop by for a drink or two.

Absolutely beautiful place with unmatched ambiance. My partner and I stumbled across it during the day and peeked our heads in but decided to come back later with a friend. The staff was super friendly that time. We really wanted to love this place and show our friend from out of town a great time at a Seattle speakeasy bar, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Our friend likes the taste of spirits quite a lot, so maybe we are just picky, but my partner and I thought the cocktails were on the unbalanced side. Additionally, our wait staff member was very passive aggressive with us and made us really eager to move on after just one drink each. We weren't taken to our table like other guests, and when we didn't notice the table tucked away that we had been told to seat at and weren't sure if we were cutting into a private group of patrons in the area, we were cut off about that being the only table (totally fine!) before we could finish making sure we were heading to the right spot. They were particularly impolite to our friend who is a very laid back and easygoing person when the tap pay didn't work first try, cut them off to say they were doing it wrong when they apologized and asked if they could use the chip reader, pulled the card out of their hand without asking, and then proceeded to not be able to use the tap mode either and not apologize for being harsh about it or handling payment/property without consent. The whole interaction was really off-putting and there wasn't really any undertone of levity or apologeticness about the behaviour. The treatment and table banter was also starkly different from how other patrons were being conversed with, so it's not like it was just an off night and not directed at us in particular. I understand that service industry can be very taxing and sometimes things come out wrong or there's unintended hostility, but this was uncomfortable and put a sour spin on our friend's last night here. We were a quiet, small party who came in enamored with the venue for a couple cozy drinks and we left in a hurry not wanting to come back. I thought this would be a lovely special date spot in the future and a great place to take friends and family, but I don't think I want to use this spot as an example of Seattle dining excellence in the future.

I love speakeasies and actively sought Bathtub and Gin out because of a failed encounter in NYC. This location is in the back alley of a residential building in Belltown - very inconspicuous; the only thing that will give it away is probably the line forming outside the door. We waited 30 min on a Friday evening, and already had people lining up behind us. We were initially seated on the couch in their lower floor, but asked to be seated elsewhere and our server very kindly obliged. We really enjoyed the ambience. We had the Fuzz Blossom and an old fashioned -both drinks were well made and strong (!) Service was friendly and fast.

Great cocktails and vibey bar. Quite small though (probably holds < 20 people) and you have to walk through a very dodgy alley to get there. Would walk through the car park instead…

Great atmosphere and a really nice staff, but unfortunately, the cocktails were disappointing. I went with friends, and all four of us agreed that every drink we tried was pretty bad. Such a shame because the place itself is beautiful. Wouldn’t recommend based on the drinks.

The bartenders, Dan and Belle, are amazing! Dan was able to make us a drink perfect for our tastes with no recipe. He has had years of practice, but makes it look effortless. He is a genius mixologist!

Honestly was pretty disappointed. Went at 8:30pm on a Friday and got an open table for 2 in the downstairs area directly under a speaker that was blaring music. We moved to the table under the stairs, which was a bit better, but it wasn't the speakeasy vibe we were looking for. I had the Death Star - pretty decent, and my wife had the vodka/prosecco drink with mint and she wasn't impressed. I've been to some speakeasies in other cities and this was my first Seattle one. Maybe it's the city? (hopefully not), but when I go to one I want it to be quiet and relaxed. It felt more like a club - if you're cool with that, all good, but just not the speakeasy feeling I was hoping for. The entrance door was wide open due to the heat so the sunlight was shining downstairs; that, coupled with the loud music, just didn't do it for us and we left after one drink. I definitely wouldn't wait in the alley for a seat (I didn't mention the bums pissing in the alley), and probably won't be back. Wish them the best of luck though

Tucked away in an alleyway, speakeasy style. Intimate spot with delicious drinks. We'll be back. Loved it!

Bathtub Gin & Company is by far one of my favorite bars I have been to — and that is anywhere in the world. The bar itself is a nice ‘speakeasy’ atmosphere, a place that has no tv’s and hidden from the drunken sloppiness of the 2nd and 1st ave. Although the music choice is a bit on the modern side this bar accommodates all sorts of people. In my opinion, it’s one of the best places to hold a conversation and have a good time. Now, what defines Bathtub Gin & Co. is the bartender, Matt James. With any visit, you can watch him perfect the art of bartending — something I never once considered a “true art.” It’s very impressive. As for the negatives, some could consider the lack of tv’s a problem, another problem is the one-person restroom which many have complained about, lastly, the alley-way location could pose an issue for some customers although I personally think of it as a safe area. I HIGHLY recommend a visit here if you’re on a date night or just want to have a nice time! Very appreciative for this bar and it’s staff.

This used to be my favorite spot in Seattle. The drinks, atmosphere, and vibe is top tier. Over the last year the service has changed dramatically. While the front door guy is nice and charismatic, there is a waitress with an interesting attitude who I won't name or describe that others in reviews have complained about. 3 guests I brought on different occasions have mentioned it too. It's crazy how a bad interaction can change up the vibe for a whole night. For now, I'll have to find a new go-to in Seattle/belltown.
