I am done with Carbon. The first outrage came when I tried to get an explanation for an inexplicably high bill—when the website says they have "transparent pricing", this apparently doesn't count if you have a high insurance deductible, for which Carbon has a completely different pricing model and landed me with a bill of several hundred dollars. When I called to complain about this, the customer service rep cut me off and tried to "explain the details" to me several times without listening. I get the details, thanks—what I wanted was someone who would acknowledge that the system is screwed up and at least give a nod to my disgruntlement. He then hung up on me unceremoniously. The second outrage came when I was trying to make an x-ray appointment for a hurt finger. The clinic abruptly cancelled my appointment less than an hour before the scheduled time, with no clear explanation. When I tried calling the front desk, I could only reach a full voice mail box. I don't know if it's the lingering effects of the pandemic or what, but this company needs an upgrade, stat!
I went to Carbon Health for my 2nd booster. I was seen on time for my appointment. The woman giving me the shot was very professional. I asked if she would mind checking my blood pressure because I had been feeling some pressure earlier in the week. She agreed right away without saying “you are only here for a booster so I cannot”. She gave me a seamless shot without any pain. The whole experience was excellent- the facility very clean - and I appreciated their expediency in getting me in and out safely. They were wonderful.
Dr. Thomsen is phenomenal. She took as much time as the appointment needed and came up with a comprehensive care plan. She treated me with respect and empathy and really listened to my concerns. Louise the nurse was super pleasant and professional. Elise who helped me get registered for the appointment helped me troubleshoot a booking issue so that I could keep the appointment. Every individual I interacted with was great and I'm happy to have them as my care team. The app itself needs work (allows appointments to be booked even if they aren't allowed, crashes/freezes, slow load times) but the people all went above and beyond to make a good experience.
It is easy to make an appointment and they were all friendly. Now the reason I came to the Dr was for a soar throat. A 15 min appointment for a soar throat was charged 1170$. This is outrageous!! And morally wrong as it sounds like taking advantage of vulnerable, sick people. The quality of the examination was poor. I was mostly describing my various symptoms, giving all details and I don’t recall any specific hypothesis being made beyond an inflammation that I mentioned. I showed a swollen lymph node and I don’t recall the Dr checking the other ones. Edit March 13: they billed half of what was shown by their assistant on their screen. However, they indicated that it was for a 45+ min appointment while I booked and spent no more than 15 min. This is very dishonest.
I have used Carbon Health for my vaccination needs. The staff has been very courteous and knowledgeable. The appointment wait time is very reasonable and I have been extremely satisfied with interacting with all the staff and technicians. I feel my privacy is respected and the atmosphere in the clinic is very professional. The premises are clean and orderly.
My appointment was good. Easy to make an appointment, good time selection for appointment, and the ANP who saw me was great. The only negative thing about my appointment was the time after checking in and being called to see the doctor was too long considering the person waiting was called to see the doctor as I was being checked in. And the appointment times prior to my appointment were open. They take walk-ins but there were no other patients in the back.
Very pleasant and well kept place. My PCM PA-C Kristen Walsh was fantastic, very knowledgeable, friendly, and curious to actually help.
I had a great experience at this urgent care. The doctor was incredibly kind and took the time to carefully evaluate my condition. What impressed me most was their thoughtful approach to treatment—they explained that prescribing antibiotics in my case wasn’t necessary, as it would be an overkill. I really appreciate doctors who prioritize the appropriate use of antibiotics, especially considering the growing issue of bacterial resistance. It’s reassuring to see a medical professional who takes these broader health concerns seriously, as overprescribing antibiotics can lead to long-term issues, even in settings like ER rooms where resistant infections could pose serious challenges. The staff was polite, the environment was clean, and I felt well cared for. I’d highly recommend this urgent care to anyone looking for a professional and compassionate healthcare experience!
The NP i saw was compassionate knowledgeable and really listen to me ! Thank you
