With all respect to the business please teach your employees customer service skills. My girl is on her phone working hard all night ignoring simple questions asked. The older woman in the back informed us that they are working short which is a big no no in customer service. I’m a nurse so I know this is not how you treat customers. When we called for directions the woman rudely kept saying “just keep turning right until you get here” without even letting me finish saying where I was. I still can’t believe it’s acceptable to treat human beings this way. God is watching you all.
Lady kept giving me attitude, she didn’t let me inspect my car. They said they couldn’t release my car without a window sticker, whole time there was a window sticker on my car they just didn’t bother to check until I went out and showed them a picture. Aside from that, they ruined my car there was internal damage because they didn’t use a flat bed tow for my AWD. I will be sueing
Don’t use google maps - follow this route to the auto pound: Driving northbound on Michigan Ave, turn right onto Randolph. Continue straight until you see the stone pillars (on your right in the park) which will be across from Field Blvd. Turn left onto Field Blvd then right at the next stop sign onto Benton. Proceed to follow the one way around the green area in the circle until are to the other side of the park opposite from where you entered. Turn right at the stop sign following the black sign pointing towards The Tides parking and proceed straight essentially going under Wacker. At the next stop sign, you will see the auto pound shack slightly to the right. The parking area for the pound will be directly in front of you.
Terrible customer service, they don’t let you know if your car is even the one being towed. Extremely rude and unprofessional, and their justifications for towing makes no sense and is made for you to get fined. Overall terrible
If I could give them 0 I would but that would take away from the professionals who actually come to work. But let’s hope “A. Khan” the guy who said this is “his yard” changes his attitude or goes through further professional development.
WARNING-Chicago Ordinance. One sign per block. Tourists BEWARE. Get towed . …I parked in between to green parking zones. But read the one signage details. Rush hour blocks off parking. 4 PM. Spoke with meter Parking officer who said he lives in Chicago vouching it was very confusing signage. No arguing. Seek civil law support. Do not accept Apple Pay google pay. This place is lower level dock level. Follow red signs. However, Rene was the best. I appreciate her professionalism and courtesy.
As a tourist visiting Chicago, let me just say that my experience with the Central Auto Pound was truly one for the books and not in a positive way. Professionalism, customer service, and efficiency are not a common practice or a priority at this location, because they excelled at ignorance. The process itself is unnecessarily confusing, particularly for visitors unfamiliar with the area because of the multiple street levels in this area, it is difficult to locate the entrance. What made the experience even more disappointing was the interaction with the staff members there. When I called the phone line to confirm the address, the employee seemed unwilling to clearly communicate basic information. Instead of providing helpful guidance, the interaction felt dismissive and uninformative, and it seemed it was more important for her to have an attitude rather than practice proper customer service skills. When we eventually got to the location, the “customer service representative” would make snarky comments under her breath and mock customers to her other colleagues, how rude? When people are already dealing with a stressful situation, the least an establishment can offer is clear communication and a basic level of courtesy. For a city service that operates “24 hours a day, 365 days a year” you would expect a system that is at least organized and staffed by individuals willing to assist the public. Unfortunately, that was not the impression this location left, and I can assure you the other customers behind us in line felt the same way. Do not walk in there expecting to have a pleasant experience. I would love to give this place a zero if I can, but unfortunately I cannot hence the one star.
I’d like to thank Tony for helping me out. Was towed on accident and luckily Tony was there to help me set up a court date and successfully defend myself. I appreciate his good manners, professionalism and courtesy during a very difficult evening. Thanks again Tony!
In front of grant park pickleball courts most of the time it's a tow zone even though there aren't signs there, guess it's paper ones but they are always torn up. The tow zones are unclear in the city. They still tow your car regardless.
Let’s be honest, mostly anyone coming here left their car where they shouldn’t have. The tow-away signs are there for a reason. I had a bit of a strange experience here though, I show up and walk in to their Office and stand there for a moment, waiting for someone to invite me to the window or give me some direction. The last thing I will ever do is walk up to a window without receiving the okay to do so as that’s just rude in my opinion. They could have been finishing up some work or simply weren’t ready so I default to being polite like this. As soon as they were able to, the clerk told me I didn’t have to wait and to go to the window. I simply thought I could go up to the window of the person talking to me at that point in time, not realizing they were pointing out a specific window. The clerk then got rude and told me to go to “THAT WINDOW”. Later while I’m waiting this clerk proceeds to talk about me to their coworker, while I can hear them, bringing in my race as a reason why I somehow misunderstood them and that I was so rude to her for misunderstanding her. Maybe this facility needs better instruction inside on which window, or their employees should do better to direct their guests and not get mad if someone misunderstands them. It would help reduce the absolutely horrid, helpless most feeling people feel when going in there… even if it is our fault…
