Fun fact. You can get up to $80 off on a new “Smart Thermostat” but if you choose the Best Buy in-store option on the Energy Trust website and attempt to use the “coupon” following Energy Trust’s instructions (included in the email they send) it will not go through. Best Buy’s system will not recognize it as a coupon and will say it’s invalid. Instead, the Best Buy cashier has to scan the coupon as a PURCHASE, not a coupon. Only then will it be accepted and applied as a discount. I found this out the hard way and only because the manager at the Jantzen Beach Best Buy was proactive enough to explore all of the possibilities and find a solution. Thank you, sir! 🙏😊🙏 It took nearly three hours and a lot of workarounds to figure this out. Gentle suggestion for Energy Trust: - Check with the vendors you contract with and see how they actually implement the “coupon” - Include those instructions in the email you send for IN-STORE purchase. You already know how Best Buy does it (read above ☝️). This will make for a far less frustrating and time-consuming experience for consumers and store employees alike! Thank you!

The Energy Trust was very helpful and patient explaining things to me. I filed for a rebate on line and it was very smooth. The Energy Trust reached out quickly with questions that I needed to answer. Each person I either spoke with, or emailed with was professional and easy to work with. I will happily use their services in future if I can.

Our nonprofit’s office building had two ancient thermostats that were hard to manage and our heat was often left on high overnight and on the weekends. I contacted our Existing Buildings Energy Advisor, Dan Piper, to see if there were any incentives available for us to upgrade our thermostats. After Dan patiently walked me through the qualification requirements he determined we were eligible for up to $400 per thermostat. These incentives inspired us to replace both thermostats with ECOBEE Premiums. We love the new thermostats! We received our incentive check faster than we expected too. Now we have properly programmed our thermostat settings to account for away times and we can check the settings from home to be sure we are not wasting energy heating and cooling an empty building. We are very grateful for this wonderfully helpful energy saving program, thank you! -Jeff Catlin

We have enjoyed our relationship as a trade ally with Energy Trust. Our customers love the incentives and Energy Trust provides us with tremendous support and surprisingly quick payments considering the number of incentives they’re dealing with. Our local rep Austin Power has been especially good to work with.

Energy Trust was genuinely helpful to me as I navigated the incentive program, taking time to provide answers and help problem solve. Rather than feeling like a bait-and-switch, I felt like they genuinely wanted me to ensure eligibility and get the incentive paid out. A great experience!

Easy process. Rebate arrived 6 weeks after submitting, just as the website said. Great experience over all. Our house is now snug as a bug in a rug and our electric bill has already gone down $75 a month!

After selling Prolectric NW as a "trusted ally" for solar installation (by posting them as one on their website, many victims chose that company, only to be defrauded of their money signing fraudulent contracts and never getting the work, while the scammer worked hard to get as much $$ they could before shutting down contact and disappearing. when I and others contacted ETofO we got ... NO HELP!! I received CYA emails that were meaningless, even a meaningless call from Tom Beverly, who for a minute I believed would help me. They said they would connect other victims with us.. NOPE. They eventually emailed me that I should get a lawyer to contact their lawyers-- we are scam victims, out a ton of money, and a nonprofit that supposedly helps homeowners afford solar now tells us to GET A LAWYER. just wow. oh! and ETofO SCRUBBED THEIR WEBSITE of Prolectric NW, so that even the wayback machine won't find them, well... I have the screenshot as do other victims. I hope someone comes after you, looks into your funding requirements and reports you to your funders. I wish I did but I don't have the bandwidth after spending all my time trying to figure out how to find the scammers and stop having to pay for a loan you guys helped happen for solar that didn't happen.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Energy Trust of Oregon! I first called to ask about insulating my attic myself, and Tyler from the Residential Team was incredibly kind and patient. He stayed on the phone with me for a long time, explained the incentives available whether I did the work myself or hired an Energy Trust ally, and even followed up by emailing me all the resources, forms, and step-by-step instructions I needed. Because of his help, I received my attic incentive with no issues. Tyler also helped me with all my questions about insulating my crawlspace and in-wall areas. I ended up hiring an Energy Trust of Oregon ally for that work, and thanks to Tyler’s guidance, everything went smoothly. Now my home is fully insulated—and much more affordable to heat and cool—because of their amazing program. Their website is very easy to navigate, and as an immigrant in this country, I truly appreciate programs like this that make home improvements more affordable and less overwhelming. A big thank-you to Energy Trust of Oregon, and a huge shout-out to Tyler and also Michael on the Residential Team. You guys are the best!
