This site it horrible and is in need of someone better to be in charge of it. I overpaid by 60$ for the thermostat they were pushing because they failed. It's not worth using unless you can invest enough time to do their job for them. I'm so upset with this.
We installed a new heating pump for our home in September 2025. We simply filled out the paperwork, and by early November, we received a $1,000 from the energy trust of Oregon. The incentive works as it is supposed to. Not much more say
After installing our new HVAC system I looked on ETO website for any incentives that might be available. We already have had a successful experience with them in the past with water heater incentives. This time was no different, everything was processed within promised time-frames. At first I was not able to find my model on the list of eligible HVAC systems, but it was due to misunderstanding on my part of the model name. The customer service on the phone and over email was excellent, and I mean - outstanding. I talked to two different representatives and both times received amazing service, with patience, understanding and willingness to help me find what I need. One representative even called back to follow up with me. Great job, ETO!
We have taken advantage of Oregon Energy Trust rebates for the past several years, most recently to replenish the attic insulation in our 28 year old house. The rebate covered nearly all of the cost, the on-line application was a breeze, and the check arrived about a month after the work was completed. I highly recommend using the trust when it comes time for energy upgrades.
Great experience working with the team. Had missed sending the rebate form due to international travel. When contacted the office few months later, Victor helped to process the rebate without any concerns via email and their office processed it in few weeks. Very helpful and courteous staff !!
Energy Trust of Oregon seems like a fraud when we did all our research to do a project replacing siding and upgrading our insulation but because we replaced the insulation from the outside, we were denied. Tried multiple times to convince that this was not incentivizing meeting code as we never had or were required for inspections for insulation or siding. Nothing on their website states this either. Be wary of Energy Trust of Oregon. Seems like a misappropriation of fees on our energy bills. Emailed the response and 2 weeks ago and never got a response.
I applied for two incentives: a smart thermostat and home insulation. I submitted receipts and backup for both. The thermostat incentive resulted in a check mailed to me in about two weeks. The insulation is caught in customer support purgatory. Honestly better than I expected but I spent a lot on insulation so it would be nice to get some support there.
As far as I’m concerned, the Energy Trust of Oregon is just another money-wasting Oregon Bureaucracy – that I'm taxed for. I updated my 25+ year old gas furnace with a heat pump. I installed a 96% efficient gas furnace for a backup so I could heat my home when the weather gets below 40 deg. F. Because of the gas backup furnace, my incentive from the Energy Trust of Oregon for improving my home’s energy efficiency was an extended middle finger. If I had NO backup or a wood-burning stove, I would have qualified for an incentive.
I have been waiting 7 months for my $250 rebate. I have called many different times. They say it will be mailed but it never happens. I purchased this energy efficient product because of the incentive. My time is valuable and it is not right for this to be such a hassle when I have provided them with everything they requested and then some.
