Happy Lemon South Lake Union

Love the mango boba tea and I’ve been to this location at least 20 times. I took a star off because I wish more of the staff were able to be helpful to folks who are unfamiliar with choosing boba drinks. I wish the drinks were more consistent instead of it depending on who makes it and what kind of mood they might be in. Also, it seems like this location runs out of stuff too much. A couple weeks ago they were out of boba altogether. I’ll continue to go back, but until my wishes come true I am not likely to recommend the place to friends.

Happy Lemon offers a great location with free parking on evenings and weekends, and an impressive selection of teas. However, my experience was marred by terrible customer service. Unfortunately, the girls treated female clients poorly during my visits, which significantly impacted the overall enjoyment, as a guy, I didn’t appreciate witnessing that. Hoping for improved service ASAP. Ladies call them out if they cross lines with you. I’m reading many reviews complaining at the HORRIBLE customer service. Who ever runs this place re-train or re-hire your personal, the girls act like divas they DON’T provide a good service. They ‘re rude because they feel miserable.

I typically like Happy Lemon but this location is terrible. I love HL because they are one of the few boba places to offer taro balls. However, they are almost ALWAYS out at this location. Very rarely am I able to get that. This is not the worst part. Idk who decided to hire the people to work here but each and every time my partner and I come here, the workers are so rude, no manners, and literally do not call out our order number so how am I supposed to know it’s ready and I’m just left waiting. It’s just odd because it’s different workers and it seems that each shift of workers are always rude. Who is hiring these people and can we please get some nicer ones? Otherwise, I would recommend making the extra trek to go to a different location. (EDIT: To respond to the owner below, this occurred on 12/23/23 at approximately 3:45pm). I really hope these individuals are gone and if not, that you investigate for the sake of other customers. Thank you.)

Takes a little while to get your beverage, however, the wait is well worth it. This establishment tends tonget a little busy and you can see the workers consistently working their behinds off to cater to their customers. The inside is pretty open with plenty of room and there's quite a bit of positive vibes here. Additionally, the workers do quite well at maintaining the cleanliness of the establishment for their guests. Id encourage anyone who loves milk/bubble teas to give it a shot.

I really enjoyed my mango lemonade and they welcomed my enhancement request: add lychee jelly! I came in just 30mins before close and there were still like 10+ people in there, so the crowd speaks for itself how well liked they are. They had run out of brown sugar boba for the evening. They make it fresh and it was too close to closing to make another batch. Completely understandable. But my main let down was the lack of selection for other boba products (popping or more jelly flavors). I would have liked more options, but it didn’t stop me for drinking the whole thing on my short walk home. 😂

Sadly need to update my review. I know all their employees are perfect & never make mistakes, but that’s no excuse for shaking your head & slamming down the drink when a customer asks for no ice after the drink is made. You’re charging $8 for milk with flavoring. It should be as the customer wishes. Customers can make mistakes too, especially after waiting a long time to order Pervious review: Nice selection of teas. I do wish they had taro without the milk tea (no caffeine), but other than that, I do enjoy their bobas. Their service is a bit slow, but I think that's because they're very, very popular and they're dealing with online orders.

I received EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE from two kind and caring staff members today, Vi and Vicky (sorry if I misspelled the latter). My partner and I decided on a Happy Lemon as dessert after dinner, and I was looking for something non-caffeinated and less sweet. After taking a sip of my Winter Melon Milk Tea with oat milk, which was delicious but sweeter than I had anticipated, I sheepishly asked if they could help me revise the order and apologized for not specifying the sweetness level earlier. At first, they shared that syrup for winter melon cannot be altered but thought critically and dove into problem-solving mode. They posited that reducing the syrup while adding more oat milk could possibly alter the sweetness level. Way to think outside of the box! Vi even went so far as to offer a sample of her concoction to ensure that the flavor profile was to my liking before finishing the new batch. The end result: I received the perfect cup of tea and rode the high of their quality customer service all evening :) Their can-do attitude and upbeat character combined with a tasty beverage made for an impactful experience. We look forward to becoming repeat customers, all thanks to these two professional young ladies.
