Happy Lemon South Lake Union

Located in a cool area, very urban feel. The fresh, yellow lemon vibe was awesome, and the boba tasted amazing. It smelled good in there too! The two guys In there were working so hard, they were busy.

Cute little shop with yummy boba and bubble waffles. One thing was that the tiramisu sauce was kind of salty for me and was tough to use with the waffle. Personally, the sauce was not for me but everything else was super yummy. The staff were super nice as well.

Yum! I ordered the strawberry shortcake smoothie (a no-caffeine option) + boba + 50% sweetness, and the oreo milk tea + boba + normal sweetness. Both were delicious and perfect for a summer day. But be prepared to wait, even if you order in advance for pick-up. We ordered via DoorDash for pick-up at 11:35. When we arrived at 11:45, one of the drinks wasn't ready. The employee was really nice and told us the second drink would be ready in 5 minutes, so we waited outside to avoid crowding the pick-up area at the side-door. We waited another 5, 10, and then 15 minutes. Finally, I went inside, despite the crowded pick-up area, because I didn't receive a "ready" notification on the DoorDash app, nor did anyone come out to tell us the order was ready. The order was ready and just sitting there on the counter. There are always streamlining challenges with new restaurants/cafes, so I hope they work out the wait times or improved communication with customers. Getting there and being there: Happy Lemon is located above street level, but there's a stairwell and ramp (stroller/wheelchair friendly) to get there. The entrance area is off of a clean, sunny courtyard with plants and seating that's spaced out. It's a nice place to wait for your order or enjoy your drink and chat.

The vibe is amazing, although the waffles disappointed us a little bit. The staff is very friendly and did a good job with the bubble tea. If you're in the area, it's a nice spot worth a shot!

Today the gentleman working at about noon was the absolute sweetest. My husband and I realized after our card declined that the store didn’t accept cash and the young man working was so gracious and helping us out. Your staff is truly friendly and empathetic, whah the world needs more of. My husband and I own a small business ourselves and can’t express how happy we are to see this type of kindness. I’ll be returning soon.

Employee A gave my order to a different customer 15 minutes before I arrived at the Happy Lemon SLU, because Employee A did not check the receipt. My order was a pick-up order. Totally forgivable. I have a common name. However... Employee B refused to re-make my order (different employee from above), and insisted I wait an additional 15 minutes for the other customer to return with the drinks. Employee B had a dismissive attitude - she was so rude. Management, why is this acceptable behavior? You approve of drinks being in a different customer's possession? Finally, after about the 6th time, I got Employee B to re-make my drinks. And about a minute after she agreed to, the other customer walked in... and Employee B said "Oh, look see! It still has ice. You can still have it." Yeah, no more Happy Lemon SLU for me. Your staff simply does not take customer safety seriously. The kicker... Here's what Employee B with the poor attitude costs you, Happy Lemon SLU management: * From Nov 16, 2020 to June 20, 2021, I've placed 57 DoorDash orders to this Happy Lemon SLU location. * Which is 57 times in 7 months * This equals roughly 2 orders every week * I spent $3,300 on Happy Lemon SLU DoorDash orders during that 7-month period (includes tips, fees, etc). So, whatever your Happy Lemon SLU margin on that is... There are plenty of other boba places nearby in Seattle. To any customers reading, Happy Lemon SLU does indeed make great drinks. And my experience has overwhelmingly been good, as I've consistently rated them 5 stars. But all it takes is 1 bad experience with 1 employee. DIY Tea Lab in Fremont is excellent, and I've made the switch to them as my go-to.

Best boba in the downtown/SLU area. 1000x better than moo bar. Don't go there for the gimmicky glass jars! This place has better tea and good waffles. The crema is really greasy and I don't recommend. The other drinks are decent.

Delicious drinks, but consistently horrendous customer service. Yesterday, it took 5-6 min of patiently standing at the register, and NO ONE acknowledges me or communicates the wait time. There's one guy wearing an earpiece and a customer had to raise her voice twice for him to notice. It's also visible to see several workers snacking and on their phones in the back while their coworkers are frantically making drinks up front... does no one realize how bad that looks?? It looks careless and lacks teamwork. I manage a restaurant across the street and come to Happy Lemon once every 2 weeks for their boba, which is actually very good, BUT the service is consistently non-existent. Either no one is trained in importance of communication, they're severely understaffed/overworked, or the manager/owner doesn't understand the value of customer service. Overall success would go even further if you don't soley rely on the products for business. You're in business with people, not just products! As a customer, if you have a LOT of time and a LOT of patience, than it's a one-stop shop for good boba drinks. Will be bringing business to other boba stores from now on.

I LOVE Happy Lemon! I have loved everything I've had here and they even have an option to adjust the sweetness level for all of their drinks! The menu has new items each month that all look amazing and the menu has many options for customers to choose from. The food and drinks are a little pricy, but make an absolutely delightful treat for a pick me up or special occasion. 10/10 would reccomend.

I was absolutely delighted by the friendly faces at this Happy Lemon location. It's hard to find this quality of customer service these days. With online ordering you really don't get good ol' fashioned face to face interaction anymore. I ordered an original bubble waffle and a boba milk tea and my friends ordered the wintermelon fresh milk and the jasmine green tea with rock salt crema. The drinks were top notch like the service. The speediness of the service did not at all compromise the quality of the drinks. 11/10 would come again anytime!
