Horrible company if you wanna pay 15% more on your gas bill or electric bill go with NRG
Their rates are very competitive and their customer service is excellent. They recently added annual contracts vs qtrly or 6 month. This reduces the number of times I'm having to call for a new rate agreement. They should send out reminders though when rate agreements are expiring. When they do expire, your rates shoot up. This is why I am giving them a 4 instead of a 5.
Called for a price, turns out they are much higher then JCP&L. I asked the rep on the phone to send me info of “all these rebates and dividends as promised” in writing via email. Clarence (I think that was his name) got irate and said “NO! We care about the environment and value company time, we send NO literature in the mail OR email!” I reminded him an email takes 1 minute and doesn’t hurt the environment. He got irate and we shouted back and forth. I eventually hung up. Terrible customer service, terrible attitude, terrible price, terrible excuses. Avoid doing any business with these people. I can’t imagine how bad the service would be if the reps and company policies are this ridiculous.
I like the cash rewards thermostat, but like the customer service as well. When I tell my friends about the sign up bonus they don't believe me because thier providers don't do the same and want to know how they can sign up.
Do not go with this electric company supplier. My bills have almost tripled since switching with them. And shame on Walmart for allowing them into their store to convince their customers such as myself that this would be a good thing to do.
I signed up for this service from a representative at Walmart. It seemed like a great deal and it was real easy. Fast forward to this week I ran into another rep at Walmart telling me their rates are $.076 rate. I thought I had cancelled this years ago and since my bill is so high I wanted to switch back- however when I looked and my bill, i still have NRG as the supplier and my bill is so high because they are charging me $.19!! $240 extra per month because they raised the rates & didn’t tell me. Makes me sick and I’m going back to my utility supplier because they may change a few cents, but never increasing by nearly 200%. I’d be careful if you sign up for them. I’m sure I’ve paid thousands the last 2 years where is shouldn’t have. 😡😡 ridiculous.
My utility bills are lower with NRG. I recommend it to people in the store when you're representatives are trying to get them to sign up. If you're here checking the reviews to decide whether it not to sign up.... Sign up!
I have had a great experience with NRG the past 3 years. They have provided great rates in this horrible economy and honored their contract and commitment. I would recommend switching to them.
Their customer service is second to none! As somebody who loves to travel, I signed up for their Southwest introductory special and received 12,000 points and a lower price rate than I had before. I also receive points for each dollar spent on my monthly bill. To say that I’m happy with NRG is an understatement!
I love saving money! And being given a $50 Walmart gift card doesn't hurt. Thank you NRG!
